Installing the alarm system on our Jeep Wagoneer Limited
One of the things I was missing for my Jeep Wagoneer Limited, was precisely the alarm system. While it is true that it is an element that does not threaten the operation of the truck, I consider it indispensable in many aspects that I actually discovered after having installed it. Maintaining the security of our vehicles in Latin countries and of course in many other parts of the world, is essential for our peace of mind. Perhaps it is not a definitive solution to an attempted theft of some element of the vehicle or total theft of the same, but at least it generates a small sensation that whoever tries it will have it a little more difficult.
So, thanks to my brother-in-law's recommendation, we went to the Diga Center Shopping Mall in the city of Maracay, where there is a place that sells different types of alarms, among other things. We purchased the Genius Series 2A Alarm, an alarm system designed for 12-volt vehicles. This brand has some recognition in the market and the truth is I am not sure if it is the best, but what is certain is that I had the positive experience of my brother-in-law who has it installed in his truck and so far has not had any problems with it.
So, that same day we proceeded to install it. We lowered the bib on the dashboard of the truck, which is the central place where everything happens, and I just watched, learned and documented what was going on.
Regarding this particular alarm, I will mention some of the most striking features (technical specifications at the end of the post):

- Automatic arming when the last door is closed
- Double Pulse for Electric Locks Opening

Although there was a problem with the central locking that caused the installation to take a couple of hours more, it was successfully achieved and now there is a certain advantage that although it is true that it is normal in these alarm systems that we could say that they are basic, I in particular see it quite comfortable, I mean the simple fact of being able to open and close the doors remotely, maybe it sounds silly, but it is something that makes a big difference. Now we have a little more peace of mind regarding the security of the van, but maybe one of you can give us some recommendations that will help us to reinforce it. Hey @musicandreview it's good that you can set the alarm, in Venezuela the wave of vehicle theft and opening them to loot what is inside began again. I'm guessing the problem that slowed you down was communication with the door solenoids.
Yes, the problem was just as you indicated, in reality it was an improvisation since normally this type of inconvenience does not occur, but the important thing is that everything went well.
