Splinterlands es sin duda uno de los mejores juegos NFT que existen en web3, esto no lo digo yo ni es una opinión sin base, su larga trayectoria y la continua emoción de los jugadores por todo lo que sigue llegando, dan fe de lo que estoy diciendo. En lo personal, llevo ya un año jugando a este juego y durante todo ese tiempo he aprendido mucho del mismo, hoy en este post te voy a contar toda esa historia, acompañada con muchas opiniones que tengo sobre el desarrollo del juego, asi que bienvenido.
Splinterlands is undoubtedly one of the best NFT games that exist in web3, this is not just me saying it, nor is it a baseless opinion, its long history and the continuous excitement of the players for everything that keeps coming, attest to what I'm saying. Personally, I have been playing this game for a year now and during all that time I have learned a lot from it, today in this post I am going to tell you all that story, along with many opinions I have about the development of the game, so welcome.
¿Cómo llegué a Splinterlands?
Cuando Steemmonsters estaba recien en sus etapas de creación yo era usuario de Steemit y estaba iniciandome en todo este mundo cripto y en lo que era Steemit en ese momento, literalmente no sabia nisiquiera que era una criptomoneda, por lo cual ni siquiera tenia conocimiento de que un juego Play2Earn estaba en desarrollo. Por esos años migré y estuve fuera del pais por unos años en los que perdi todo mi acceso a mis llaves de Steemit y termine alejandome por completo de todo el mundo cripto. En 2019 regresé a mi pais natal y un dia haciendo scroling recordé a Steemit y empecé a investigar sobre eso.
Tras un rato de investigar en Google me tope con Splinterlands, nuevo nombre adoptado por el juego luego de que este se separara de la blockchain de Steemit, se creara Hive y el juego pasara a formar parte de este ultimo, asi que de alguna manera, conoci a Hive gracias a Splinterlands, sin embargo, en ese momento, y con mis conocimientos sobre cripto en la nada prácticamente, tampoco entre al juego.
How did I come to Splinterlands?
When Steemmonsters was just in its creation stages I was a Steemit user and I was just getting started in this whole crypto world and what Steemit was at that time, I literally didn't even know what a cryptocurrency was, so I didn't even know that a Play2Earn game was in development. Around those years I migrated and was out of the country for a few years where I lost all my access to my Steemit keys and ended up completely distancing myself from the whole crypto world. In 2019 I returned to my home country and one day while scrolling I remembered Steemit and started researching about it.
After a while of researching on Google I came across Splinterlands, new name adopted by the game after it separated from the Steemit blockchain, Hive was created and the game became part of the latter, so somehow, I met Hive thanks to Splinterlands, however, at that time, and with my knowledge about crypto in practically nothing, I didn't enter the game either.
Cuando empezó el boom de los juegos NFT con Axie infinity y compañía empecé a mirar hacia Splinterlands y prestarle atención al juego, hasta que decidí comprar mi libro del invocador. Entre al juego una semana antes del anuncio de la edición Chaos Legion, todavia no existian las divisiones de formatos, ni los focus, las cartas rewards que obtenias eran las de la edicion Untamed. Las primeras dos semanas fueron de aprendizaje total, me tomo algo de tiempo empezar a dominar las mecánicas de las batallas.
When the NFT and Blockchain games boom on the Play2Earn stage started with Axie infinity and company I started to look at Splinterlands and pay attention to the game, until I decided to buy my summoner book. I entered the game a week before the announcement of the Chaos Legion edition, there were still no format divisions, no focus, the rewards cards you got were the ones from the Untamed edition. The first two weeks were of total learning, it took me some time to start mastering the mechanics of the battles.
¿Cuanto llevo aqui?
Me uni a Splinterlands en Octubre del 2021 lo que para mi es ya bastante tiempo, sin embargo no me considero un veterano en el juego, a dia de hoy sigo aprendiendo cosas nuevas, lo que si creo que soy es un gran entusiasta de Splinterlands, porque el juego me gusta mucho.
How long have I been here?
I joined Splinterlands in October 2021 which for me is already quite a long time, however I don't consider myself a veteran in the game, I'm still learning new things, what I do believe I am is a big Splinterlands enthusiast, because I like the game a lot.
Mi libro del invocador lo compre a traves de Metamask usando BUSD que a su vez, habia comprado con el $Hive y $HBD que generaba en mi blog, que para ese tiempo estaba centrado en contenido deportivo.

I bought my summoner spellbook through Metamask using BUSD which in turn, I had bought with the $Hive and $HBD I generated on my blog, which by that time was focused on sports content.

¿Cuánto tiempo dedico al juego?
Esto es algo de lo que he hablado continuamente en mis posts, cuando comence a jugar era un demente, habian dias en los que jugaba hasta 5 horas seguidas o mas, el ecosistema cripto en general estaba en un alza que parecia no parar y las ganancias eran muy buenas, tantas que por lapsos podia permitirme no trabajar y vivir enteramente de lo que obtenia en Hive y otras inversiones en cripto, como Splinterlands. Todo lo que ha pasado desde el 2021 hasta ahora es bien conocido por todos y la situacion ha cambiado bastante, por lo cual ahora mi dedicacion al juego se acorto bastante, sin embargo trato siempre de invertir todo el tiempo posible cada dia.
Recuerdo gratamente que tenia apenas un par de semanas jugando cuando en un cofre de recompensas de rango bronce obtuve mi primera carta legendaria un Almo Cambio. Las posibilidades de que eso ocurra en el rango bronce son tan bajas que cuando entendi el cofre que me habia salido, me senti una de las personas con mas suerte en el mundo.
How much time do I dedicate to the game?
This is something I have talked about continuously in my posts almost every week, when I started playing Splinterlands I was insane, there were days when I played up to 5 hours or more, the crypto ecosystem in general was on a rise that seemed not to stop and the profits were very good, so many that for periods I could afford not to work and live entirely from what I got in Hive and other crypto investments, such as Splinterlands. Everything that has happened since 2021 until now is well known to all and the situation has changed quite a lot, so now my dedication to the game is quite short, however I always try to invest as much time as possible every day.
I remember pleasantly that I had just a couple of weeks playing, on September of 2021 when in a bronze rank reward chest from my daily quest I got my first legendary card an Almo Cambio. The chances of that happening in the bronze range are so low that when I understood the chest I got, I felt like one of the luckiest people in the world.
¿Qué he conseguido en Splinterlands?
Hasta este punto, lo que considero mi logro mas importante (hablando de economia) son 4 cartas legendarias doradas, la primera fue Jared Scar:
Que me salio en mis cofres de Focus cuando entro en vigencia el sistema actual de recompensas, que si estabas ahi en ese momento, debes saber que cuando se lanzo estaba realmente roto y si le ponias empeño total al juego la increible cantidad de recompensas que podrias obtener era tan alta que amenazaban con acabar con la fluidez organica de las recompensas y con ello, la economia.
Las restantes son 3 BCX de Kulu Mastermind, cartas que obtuve cuando estuve en lo que considero mi prime en el juego, jugando en rango oro-diamante.
What have I achieved in Splinterlands?
Up to this point, what I consider my most important achievement (talking about economy) are 4 golden legendary cards, the first one was Jared Scar:
That I got in one of my Focus chests when the current reward system came into effect on the metagame, which if you were there playing Splinterlands at that time, you should know that when this focus reward system was launched it was really broken and if you put total commitment to the game the incredible amount of rewards you could get was so high that threatened to end the organic flow of the rewards and with it, the economy.
The remaining are 3 BCX from Kulu Mastermind, of the soulbound, cards that I got when I was at what I consider my prime in the game, playing at gold-diamond rank.
Y hablando de mis logros como jugador, lo que para mi es mi mayor logro es haber llegado a la liga diamante, cuando estaba en mi punto mas alto como jugador, lo cual mas alla de las recompensas obtenidas, me hizo crecer mucho como jugador, abriendome las puertas a ser competitivo en los torneos y brawls, ademas de conocer muchas de las estrategias que se pueden implementar en el juego.
And speaking of my achievements as a player, what for me is my greatest achievement is to have reached the diamond league, when I was at my highest point as a player, which beyond the rewards obtained, made me grow a lot as a player, opening the doors to be competitive in tournaments and brawls, in addition to knowing many of the strategies that can be implemented in the game.
¿Cuales son las metas a futuro?
Esto es algo que por ahora tengo en stand by, ya que estoy esperando que la edicion Rebellion sea lanzada. ¿Por que? pues, esta nueva edicion va a ser un cambio radical en el meta actual de este juego, van a haber muchas actualizaciones y modificaciones de gameplay y si bien, la economia es importante y planear bien lo que haras tambien, es el gameplay lo que realmente define tu trayectoria dentro del juego, asi que quiero tener una buena vista de como va a ser el juego luego de que llegue Rebellion, para asi fijar lo que van a ser las nuevas metas.
Asi, de buenas a primeras, lo primero que quiero hacer es regresar a la liga Oro, que es donde jugaba normalmente.
What are my future goals on the game?
This is something that I have on stand by for now, since I'm waiting for the Rebellion edition to be released on the game, why? Well, it's simple, this new edition will be a radical change in the current goal of this game, there will be many updates and gameplay modifications and although the economy is important and planning well what you will do too, it is the gameplay what really defines your path within the game, so I want to have a good view of how the game will be after Rebellion arrives, to set what the new goals are going to be.
So, right off the bat, the first thing I want to do is go back to the Gold league, which is where I normally played.
Por ultimo, algunos consejos.
Primero que nada, como consejo para nuevos jugadores les recomiendo mi blog en general ya que la gran mayoría de mis post en Hive están enfocados en ayudar a los nuevos jugadores, y a su vez, la mayoría de ellos, están enfocados en consejos sobre el gameplay y como mejorarlo.
Mas allá de eso, si eres un nuevo jugador o quieres entrar al juego, el primer consejo que te puedo dar es que dediques todo el tiempo a aprender a jugar bien, como funciona el posicionamiento de las cartas, que hacen las habilidades, que cartas son mejores para X o Y ruleset, etc.
No importa si entras al juego solamente con los 10$ del libro o con 100.000$, si no eres buen jugador, el competitivo te va a destrozar. Porque si, este es un juego competitivo cuyo gameplay esta basado totalmente en las batallas PvP.
Así mismo, te puedo aconsejar que no te desboques en querer abarcar mas terreno del que puedes abarcar. ¿A que me refiero? pues que si todavia no has dominado el rango Bronce o al menos te sientes comodo/a batallando en el, no haces nada apuntando a jugar en Oro.
And lastly, some advices.
First of all, as advice for new players I recommend you my Hive blog in general since most of the posts I made in Hive are focused on helping new players, and in turn, most of them, are focused on tips on gameplay and how to improve it.
Beyond that, if you are a new player or want to get into the game by this days, the first advice I can give you is to dedicate all the time you can invest to learn how to play well, the ranked battles, how card positioning on the lineup works, what skills do, what cards are best for X or Y ruleset, etc.
It doesn't matter if you enter the game with only the 10$ in the book or with 100.000$, if you are not a good player, the competitive game will destroy you. Because yes, this is a competitive game whose gameplay is totally based on PvP battles.
Likewise, I can advise you not to go overboard in wanting to cover more ground than you can cover. What I mean is that if you have not yet mastered the Bronze rank or at least feel comfortable battling in it, you do not do anything by aiming to play in Gold.
Conclusiones.
Splinterlands sin duda ha sido un impacto muy positivo en mi vida, de forma directa o indirecta este juego me ha hecho aprender un monton de cosas buenas que han sido de mucho beneficio para mi.
Practicamente todos los conocimientos que tengo sobre criptomonedas los he obtenido directamente de Splinterlands o algo relacionado con el juego me han hecho aprenderlo, ademas de que los beneficios economicos que he obtenido del juego durante mucho tiempo me han servido incluso como mi ingreso base, en tiempos de necesidad.
En algun momento trabaje directamente con los desarroles de Splinterlands, en la traduccion del juego del Ingles al Español, y quede muy conforme con la colaboracion, fueron muy serios en todo momento.
Y mas alla de la experiencia personal, el juego ha estado por años en la cima de los juegos NFT, en popularidad y tambien en mantener su economia estable y en funcionamiento, asi que de mi parte estoy al 100% con Splinterlands y seguire jugandolo.
Conclusions.
Splinterlands has undoubtedly been a very positive impact on my life, directly or indirectly this game has made me learn a lot of good things that have been of great benefit to me.
Practically all the knowledge I have about cryptocurrencies I have obtained directly from Splinterlands or something related to the game has made me learn it, plus the economic benefits I have obtained from the game for a long time have served me even as my base income, in times of need.
At some point I worked directly with the developers of Splinterlands, in the translation of the game from English to Spanish, and I was very happy with the collaboration, they were very serious at all times.
And beyond the personal experience, the game has been for years at the top of the NFT games, in popularity and also in keeping its economy stable and running, so from my part I am 100% with Splinterlands and will continue playing it.
