¡Bienvenido!

The guilds in Splinterlands are very important because they give you certain benefits to your game that you can not get elsewhere on the game at that point, such as Gladius cards and merits, and now with the new summoners these cards have taken much more importance and will continue to take it as players go up the level of their summoners, that's why you should improve the way you play the brawls, which are tournaments between guilds where they compete with each other for merits and rewards in SPS. One of the slots that are less taken by players are the golden card slots and I understand why it is so, that's why today I bring you this post with tips that you can apply to play these slots. Welcome!

The guidelines.

The first thing to know about is that, obviously, these frays can only be played with gold foil cards. This applies to both, the regular cards and Gladius cards, and this is the main reason why these slots are always among the least chosen by players. Owning the full gladius set by itself is already complicated for the metod of farm, imagine doing it in its golden versions.

Besides that, the regular limitations of editions on brawls also play their role here on this contest. Today's post will be based on the slot I'm playing in today's brawl, Untamed + Chaos Legion.

  • Remember that now brawls and all the battles in general are played by sets and not by editions only, so for this slot all Rewards and Promo cards tied to the main editions are available, for example:

Speak with your guild.

It is also important to have as many gold foil Gladius as possible, the only way to get them is by taking them out of the Gladius packs that you buy on the game and this has its complexity for the way of farm merits. It is very important that your guild talks about it and reach a consensus to know which players have the most golden Gladius because that player will be the one who will have the most advantage in the brawls and this is generally beneficial for the whole guild, not only for that player.

Of course, the player who has the most gold foil cards on their accounts, or better said, the best gold foil cards in general, is the one who should take over these slots, but it is best to reach an agreement with the opponents.

Remember that victories in brawls are counted as a group for the entire guild to decree the winner of the brawl, so the main objective of your guild should be to get the most victories in the brawls. That is why you must study very well how these tournaments work and who plays better in each slot.

In my guild we use a slot rotation system looking for the following:

The first one is that all players in the guild get playing experience in each of the differents frays of the brawl, that they get to know them and become better in each of them and not just in the easiest ones, so that everyone has the ability to play at any level.

But as I mentioned above, this should be a consensus among all your guild.

The deck.

Regarding to the deck that you should use for this battles, the most advisable thing to do is to have as many cards as possible of those editions and if you can afford it, then rent everything you are missing. Because brawls are really powerful battles that will really test you, below you will see a couple of examples but basically what happens with brawls is that they are usually more complex and difficult than ranked battles in general. And that's without even including Gladius cards.

That's why you should have as many options as possible on your deck among what you have available for your slot. You can also talk to your guild and delegate to each other what they have more and what their teammates lack, so everyone will give the best possible performance in each brawl. A simple example, if you have a Malric Inferno in your deck you can delegate it to the teammate who took the Alpha/Beta slot, because you won't be able to use it in yours.

Battles.

My Gladius gold foil deck has just four cards, but that doesn't discourage me from playing these slots. War Chaang is one of my favorite cards for this slot because of its versatility. That's why it's a fixture in my deck. I had four battles in this brawl, by the time of making this post only three have been resolved, the first one is still pending.

This battle brought me an interesting combination of rulesets, Equalizer cancels Equal Opportunity right off the bat and then applies an invisible Taunt to the first card of each team that takes damage, so my response was to add the Taunt right off the bat and have all the attacks go towards my Slipspawn to give the rest of my team time to deal damage. This battle is still unresolved so I don't know what the outcome was.

This second battle presented a very complex ruleset that can easily make you lose the battle if you don't come with enough options available, that's why I love War Chaang, and although the idea of my lineup was very good I crashed against what is perhaps the best summoner for these cases, Fernheart, that took me completely out of the element and put me at a total disadvantage.

Here there was a little more room to maneuver, every time I see that there are more and more players who continue using magic when a ruleset that makes a direct counter like Magic Reflection appears, this is a very serious mistake. Here I go for a Melee + Ranged alignment and at the end I add Xenith Monk that with its healing cancels itself the poison, this is very important in this ruleset because in these battles you play against your opponent but also against the poison of the ruleset.

For the last battle of my actual brawl I went back to earth to use my other golden Gladius, Beltrol Gobson, in this battle the truth is that his Bloodlust ability was irrelevant, but his damage thanks to Opportunity was one of the reasons why I won the fight, so anyway it was very good to have him in my team.

These tournaments are very important because they are the best way to get merits for gladius packs, but also you are rewarded with crowns and SPS for your victories, all that added to the fact that these battles serve you a lot to become a better player because as I explained and demonstrated in this post, they are not easy to play, so put a lot of eye on improving your performance in them, is the best advice I can give you in this regard.
