Hello Splinterlands Community! Welcome to another Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge featuring a Neutral Epic Monster the Magi of Chaos from the Chaos Edition.

Lore

The Magi of the Chaosium are the heralds of the Legion itself. For hundreds of years they met and studied in secret, gathering ancient artifacts and scraps of forbidden knowledge, much that was once thought lost. As the convergence grew close they plied the void for its treasures and listened furtively to the voices in the dark to make way for the coming of the Lord of Chaos. Once the way was opened and doom poured from the sky they rose from their hidden places to claim the promise of power from their dark masters.

In this battle I didn't focus in killing the enemies monster but to defeat the ruleset the Noxious Fumes.
There are four Splinters available in this battle and I have 2 options:

  • Fire for the Forgotten One because of the Immunity Ability ( This monster is immune to negative status effects) and also for Scavo Chemist for the Cleanse Ability ( Removes all negative effects on the Monster in the first position on the friendly team).
Forgotten One_lv2_gold (1).pngScavo Chemist_lv4.png
  • Death for the Harklaw also for Immunity Ability.

Harklaw_lv2 (1).png

  • These two monster are the best to use in Reverse Speed and Noxious Fumes because of there Speed and Ability.

Line Up

MonsterPosition
Thaddius Brood_lv4 (1).pngSummoner- Reduced enemies monster with 1 magic damage and 1 hit point.
Bone Golem_lv1.pngTank(High Damage, 1 speed, 2 armor and 6 hit point ) perfect tank for Reverse Speed Rule with Void Ability (Reduced damage from magic attacks)I thought my opponent use Earth Element that's why I choose this card together with thaddius brood.
Harklaw_lv2 (1).pngOff-Tank(2 melee damage, 2 speed, 3 armor and 9 hit points) with Immunity and Shield (Reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks) Abilities. Main Tank if my Bone Golem falls, I also put it in 2nd position for him to not take damage before his time to fight.
Spirit Hoarder_lv2.pngSupport(1 magic damage, 1 speed and 3 hit points) with Dispel (When this monster hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy) and Triage (Heals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage) Abilities. I choose this card to heal the monster who take more damage in the battle.
Magi of Chaos_lv2 (1).pngDPS(2 magic damage, 2 speed and 6 hit points) Our star for this week. This monster is useful in Reverse Speed because of his constant speed from level 1 up to level 6. I put it in last position to defend the backline since it has 6 hit points this monster will survive in few rounds.

Let's see our Opponent cards:

Tarsa_lv1.png

Tarsa: +1 melee attack and 1 hit point.

  • Living Lava(4 melee attack, 1 Speed, 2 Armor and 7 hit points with Shield Ability). Also a good tank in Fire Element in Reverse Speed Rule.

  • Radiated Brute (3 melee attack, 1 speed and 6 hit points)with Reach Ability (Melee attack Monsters with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.)also a good off-tank when Living Lava falls.

  • Tenyii Striker (3 melee attack, 2 speed and 7 hit points) Sneak Damage.

  • Serpentine Spy (3 melee attack, 3 speed and 2 hit points) with Opportunity ( Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.) One of the best cards in Fire Element.

  • Scavo Chemist with Cleanse Ability. Remove the Poison effect in Living Lava.

  • Xenith Archer ( 1 range attack, 1 speed and 2 hit points.)

Enemies team focuses in firepower, 7 melee attack damage in Tank and 2nd Position + 1 Range Attack coming from Xenith Archer, 3 melee attack in Sneak and 3 melee attack for Opportunity.

Lets see what will be the result of this battle.

Round 1

In round 1 Bone Golem attack first and break the armor of Living Lava.
Bone Golem fall this round with the combined attack of Living Lava, Radiated Brute, Xenith Archer and Serpentine Spy. Harklaw take the Tank position.

Round 2

IMG_20221009_191422.jpg

Poison takes effect this round. All monster was poisoned except for the Harklaw and Living Lava. Serpentine Spy and Xenith Archer died due to poison.
Spirit Hoarder heals the Magi of Chaos but it's useless because Tenyii Striker targeted him.

Round 3

IMG_20221009_192314.jpg

Poison take effect again this round.
Scavo Chemist and Spirit Hoarder fall this time. Both our tanks survive until this time. It's now 1 vs. 3 my Harklaw against Living Lava, Radiated Brute and Tenyii Striker. My Harklaw still have 9hp, Living Lava and Radiated Brute still have 1hp left and 2hp for Tenyii Striker. Enemies team attack first this time Harklaw received 6 melee damage from the combined attacks of Living Lava, Radiated Brute and Tenyii Striker but their firepower is not enough to knock down my Harklaw (3hp left).
Harklaw attack this time and knock down the Living Lava. Mostly the battle is over by now.

Round 4

Poison take effect. Radiated Brute and Tenyii Striker falls down. Our Harklaw is still alive and lead us VICTORIOUS!

Thoughts of the Battle

I almost lost this fight thanks for the poison rule. Maybe I was defeated if my opponent used the Forgotten One combined with Living Lava as a tank then Scavo Chemist as a support.

Did my strategy work?

Yes! As I said earlier I didn't focus in killing my enemies it's the Poison killing them. In this battle Noxious Fumes it's important to counter first the Rules before countering the enemies.

Do I like Magi of Chaos?

Yes ! Because Magi of Chaos is a Neutral Element monster it's very helpful in battlefield specially in back to basic and reverse Speed rules.

What will you do next time?

I'm always planning to upgrade it in Level 3 for the +1 magic damage.

Alright that's all for this share your battle weekly challenge.
Thank you for reading! Have a Great day ahead! Godbless us all!
