The wagon does look funky but if it rolls, that is all that matters. The zip ties were good thinking.
I forgot about the eclipse and missed it but we did not seem to get any darker. Did it get darker there, that might make your chickens act differently. Animals have an internal clock and they knew it should still be daytime. It might also do something to them that we are not aware of.
I am glad you have someone to take you to a store to get food and yes, you do not get much for the money you spend, it floors me each time we go.
I have been worrying about you getting electricity and something to live in which is causing me to not get much sleep it was after 3 when I finally went to sleep and was up at 6, I can imagine how bad it is affecting you.
It did not seem to get any darker to me but maybe the chickens noticed it more than I did.
If it comes down to it I can get by without having electric or a building to live in. A storage building is really more important at this point.
Yeah the 'getting to sleep' has been rough but at least I am getting some rest each night.
