No Longer A Swifty? - The Eras Tour

Hello Hive Music Gang!

Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.

Well it finally happened, the Eras Tour was finally released on Disney+ and I managed to catch it. My wife is a Swifty and was wanting to go and see the concert live, but the price of the tickets made that a no-go when you have a family and other priorities.

We have watched her previous documentaries and find some of her tunes pretty catchy and we thought it was something we could watch together. Oh how wrong I was! haha

I started watching the concert and waiting for some of the tunes that I know and even my teenage daughter joined me as she is also a Swifty.. but well, in the words of my daughter.. it was "boring"!

I don't know how, of course you want to listen to the tunes, but you also want to be entertained a little and there was something really missing from this show. That isn't to say Taylor didn't work hard or sing well, it was just the show was pretty... boring! A real dissapointment.

This has now got me questioning whether I can call myself a Swifty anymore. I certainly am glad I missed out on going to the concert with my wife as it would have been painful to sit through this for so many hours.

This leads on to the first tune for today which is probably the most shared tune from the Eras Tour, Cruel Summer. This was quite good to watch in the performance and I think the tune is quite nice too.

Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer

The majority of songs and scenes from the tour were around boyfriends and feelings. It was the typical girly stuff that is really hard to stomach if you are a guy. I certainly couldn't relate to my emotional side, it just made me think, oh my god, get me out of here!

When they say men are from Mars and women are from Venus, I couldn't see anyway to bridge the gap back to reality here, even if I was a keen Swifty before.

Even some nice tunes like Blank Space with a funny-ish video was sang pretty boring in the concert which was disappointing.

Taylor Swift - Blank Space

The final tune is probably the most recent one of Taylor that I know as I didn't listen to her whole album. Mostly I just heard this one on the radio and it had that ok pop-ish sound that I am used to with Taylor.

During the concert, there were many times Taylor brought out her trusty guitar and it was akin to listening to a friend strumming along. Just it was abit basic and not so interesting to watch. The dancers and scenes were really dull.

If the target audience, my teenage daughter thought it was boring, I can't imagine she would have enjoyed to be there. Perhaps my expectations were too high and expecting a Superbowl half-time show with the choreography designed by Madonna was too much, I don't know how I had such high expectations.

Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero

That wraps up my #ttt for this week. Did you watch the Eras Tour yet? What were your thoughts about it?

For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.

Be sure to head over and give @ablaze some support as without his great work, we wouldn't have a #ttt.

Believe it or not I haven't watched it yet. She has her new album coming out this week and I am really excited about that. I am looking forward to listening to it. Then I will decide if I want to get it on vinyl. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

What a shame you couldn't attend the concert with your wife, @mypathtofire, but as you say, there are priorities.
She recently came to Argentina, but very far from the city where we live, what girl wouldn't have wanted to go see her in Buenos Aires?
I love all her music, all three videos are excellent

That is exciting.
😃 You shouldn't blame yourself for not going to the concert. Sometimes we prioritize our expenses

Yes, it was too expensive for the tickets this time. She is so popular.

After all the hype on the Internet, I thought it would be boring too.
Thanks for the heads-up, so I'd just save my time from watching it.
I love all the songs you mentioned, but my favorite from the three is cruel summer

Hi bro! Taylor is one of the most famous singers, she sells a lot of records and sells out her concerts, but I have never understood why 😅 she is ok, she is an excellent songwriter, but I don't know why people have her on such a high pedestal, as if she causes visual impacts like Madonna, or if she sings like Christina Aguilera, or at least she dances like Britney Spears before, no, she is not even a latin goddess like Shakira, so I don't understand her wonderful success.

I haven't seen the concert, but in her music videos I see that everything around her is wonderful, except for her who has always seemed boring to me in her personality, since that time Kanye West offended her live, that's how I remember her and I feel that's her always 🤣 Maybe it's me who is wrong statistically speaking. Mind you, I respect the lyrics of her songs a lot, and I'm a fan of Blank Space and Anti Hero, and I would add I Knew You Were Trouble and You Belong With Me to this list, but compared to many divas, she's just a normal girl 🤔 maybe that's her appeal... Shakira said a few days ago that she would like to do a duet with her, maybe I'm in time to be a Swifty 😬.

the word 'swifty' is new to me ;)))) now I am in the know, hehe.

I am not a fan of Taylor and do not listen, as you put it,

It was the typical girly stuff that is really hard to stomach if you are a guy. I certainly couldn't relate to my emotional side

...but could not escape it, as she is everywhere :D and I dont skip her (nice!) videos when Youtube AI makes its experiments on me... lets have a Hive !PIZZA and spread the !LUV

I've never been a Swifty, but she has written some catchy songs that I enjoy hearing. I understand she puts on one hell of a show, but I wouldn't pay anywhere near those prices just to see her show. Plus they have it on Disney + if you really want to see it.

I prefer shows that are exciting I guess... I must be getting old...
