The Spring Is Here!

This weekend we were blessed with some fantastic weather reaching 25 degrees so that it was pleasant to spend lots of time outside with just a tshirt. We have had an awfully cold spring so far and so it was great to get a warm weekend, I hadn't expected it to be so warm either.

With that in mind it was time to open the garden for the spring and summer service after hibernating for the winter. There are lots of jobs to get done and it gave me some thoughts on what jobs I would like to do this summer. I have some drainage I would like to add, laying some electric cables or planting some new pot plants. Quite a few things to choose from.

My first job in the garden was to pull out some of the many weeds that have shown up. It was a not so fun job on my knees pulling them out, but it is good to clean them out abit before my next job, cutting the grass. The grass was very long and I needed to cut if before perparing it for dethatching sometime next week. I also managed to pop to the garden center to get the fertiliser and checked my supply of seeds.

In between jobs, I could take some time and sit on the garden furniture once I had cleaned it and enjoy some reading in the sun. The temperature is just right at 25 degrees, as it is not too hot and not cold, which is just how I like it. I won't do a review of this book as I didn't really like it.

It was also a good time to get the bikes out and start preparing them for the spring summer cycling. I cleaned the bikes up and pumped up the tyres. Sadly I have a flat one and therefore need to order some new innertubes and decided I will also replace the tyres as they are looking quite worn. Last year I replaced the crank set, peddles and grips, so there is no other big job to do with the bike this year.

On another bike, I did a small repair job on the mudguard to make sure that it is correctly assembled and safe to ride.

I was fasting most of the weekend, but broke my fast in the evening with some asparagus, schnitzel and potatoes. It was nice to eat outside in the evening.

I didn't do the cooking myself this time which makes it also a nice treat.

I hope we will get some more good weekends as it seems like it has been a long winter and no sign of good spring weather that we have had in the last few years. Hopefully, now this is the start of the change in the weather.

I am looking forward to some more sunny garden time and to do some cycling too. How was your weekend?

Thanks for reading.

You have a great weekend! 👍
But here's summer! Last two days 25 degrees Celsius! Hot as hell for the first week of April. And I'm stuck the third week for painting the fence :(

Nice that you did so many activities and summed them up in a single post. Ah, your cycle reminds me of I haven't done it for a long time. Will do it shortly... Great weekend you had.

I just remembered that chain of my bicycle is not set and I have to go to repairing shop for my bicycle. I will go tomorrow.

Temperature over here is also moderate but not that much moderate as that region.

I am also fasting{ as you know it's month of Ramadan}.

Flowers are blooming in the garden and everything is getting fresh looks.

Happy spring 🌱🌼

Ah I hope you manage to get your bike fixed ok and do some cycling. It is a great activity for the spring and summer here.

Is Tuesday your last day of fasting? It has been easier to fast this time than last year for me.

Happy Spring time and Eid next week.

Your weekend was much nicer than mine. It has rained all day and my big acomplishment was cleaning out the refrigerator! Going to add some asparagus to my grocery list. Yours looks so good.

Your weekend was far better than mine! 😜 I got terrific fly on Friday, and both Saturday / Sunday were its peak - I spent helpless lying flat in my bed. Now we have splendid sunny day, but I still dont risk to go out. :/

Hey Dr. It has been a very busy time lately and doesn't seem that it will slow down. I try to fast a little during Ramadan too, it's been a great boost to my health. 👍 #alive

Looks like it was a beautiful weekend for you. We had nice weather too, but we honestly spent most of our time inside. I need to get the lawn mowed (parts of it anyway), but I just don't feel like it. I don't have much motivation anymore.

Your days do not flow empty!

The book cover looks tempting and I am sure there is a lot of intresting and compressed experience inside. I feel momentarily hooked by 'Venice' part in its title... but probably myself I would rather go after this one:

Highly intrested in educating myself about this period of history, as it is the early beginnings of proto capitalism in Europe, and how Europe started its rivalry with powerful colossus of Byzantium.

Have a !BEER, and wish you warm and sunny weather! grow on, the bitcoins crop, grow on! ☘️☘️☘️

That looks a very tempting book. I am also fascinated by Venice and the whole history of Italy and the Romans. One book still sitting on my shelf is the well renowned Gibson classic. At over 1000 pages, it is not a quick read!
Whilst Venice is impressive, I think Florence left a greater impression on me with the powerful churches and architecture. One of the books claims is that it could only be built on a hard money standard and a moral society. I guess we are far off that at the moment.

I guess we are far off that at the moment.

(here I could insert as much lol icons as you can bear).

Gibbon's is a classical study. 👍 And can take 1-2 years to read accurately, to process fruitfully all the story given. I am not 100% sure but it may be dated in some way (as historical science did not stand still after this study was written) - but still its a great book and entertaining reading that influenced a lot of our venerable ancestors. Ofc, I wish you a happy reading. !BEER

Venice history attracts me more from its political and economical history aspects rather than esthetical (city on the water etc).

I can understand that for sure, there is so much history there and many small nuances which seemed to come from this era.. I do think that it is all connected to the art renaissance also, spawning from the basic economic functioning. I hope you might share any good findings you make.

I had a good weekend too. My host brought a nice chicken rice dish and I had it for dinner, it was delicious. I also had a nice walk and I shared the photos on Hive.

We need to feel the warmth of spring now. I hope it stays at certain levels for a long time. If it suddenly gets too hot, I don't want that either.

That sounds great. I am glad that I'm not alone with too hot weather! Spring and autumn are the best weather wise or just relaxing days in hot summer.
