Zack is a mysterious boy who hides a big secret, the murderer of his best friend. He has murky intentions and a Machiavellian mind that makes him do terrible things to people around town. As the years go by he meets Lucy and a part of him feels different, he feels something that he doesn't know how to describe towards her. But eventually he learns that Lucy was his best friend's girlfriend and now it's too late because they are both in love. Zack tries to keep this secret from Lucy and to let her know the truth about what happened that December where he and his best friend were clearing snow from the yard and a man killed his best friend but Zack could never tell the truth for fear of bad things happening to more people. Lucy learns this from an old newspaper she finds on the roof of Zack's house where he is listed as the culprit in her boyfriend's death. Lucy feels destroyed and doesn't know what to do, but she doesn't want to be near Zack anymore. Zack tries to clear his name by finding a way to make it known that the real culprit of his friend's death was his friend's father because he always thought his son was gay and had a relationship with Zack. In the end Zack gathers all the clues and ambushes his best friend's dad and he ends up confessing that he killed his own son and that he feels no guilt because his son was doing the wrong thing and he would never have accepted a gay son and that is why he committed the crime. Lucy feels so much pain for everything that happened and talks to Zack, asks him for forgiveness for having thought the worst of him and in the end they both go their separate ways because the pain and the presence of his best friend does not allow them to have a relationship.

Lucy siente tanto dolor por todo lo ocurrido y habla con Zack, le pide perdón por haber pensado lo peor de el y al final ambos siguen caminos distintos porque el dolor y la presencia de su mejor amigo no les permite tener una relación.
