Hola, amigos de Ladies Of Hive. Me alegra estar nuevamente acá escribiendo para la comunidad. Últimamente hemos estado procesando lo ocurrido en Venezuela; todo ha sido muy rápido y triste. Me siento muy afortunada de contar con salud y con el apoyo de mis familiares, que salieron ilesos de esta situación. Pero no todos cuentan con la misma suerte; por esa razón pienso que ahora más que el primer día del terremoto necesitamos que las personas que se vieron damnificadas o que están pasando por un duelo reciban la atención adecuada que merecen. Me gustaría invitar a @erigm, @irenenavarroart y @sacra97 para que también participen en este nuevo concurso con las preguntas propuestas por @chacald.dcymt. 🙌🏽🫶🏽
Hello, friends at Ladies Of Hive. I’m delighted to be back here writing for the community. Lately, we’ve been coming to terms with what’s happened in Venezuela; it’s all been very sudden and sad. I feel very lucky to be in good health and to have the support of my family, who emerged unscathed from this situation. But not everyone is so fortunate; that’s why I think that now, even more so than on the first day of the earthquake, we need to ensure that those who have been affected or are grieving receive the proper care they deserve. I’d like to invite @erigm, @irenenavarroart and @sacra97 to take part in this new contest too, with the questions set by @chacald.dcymt. 🙌🏽🫶🏽
Si tuvieras la oportunidad, ¿qué harías por aquellas personas que salvaron la vida de niños o por quienes no se cansan de llevar ayuda a los supervivientes durante el reciente terremoto en Venezuela?
If given the opportunity, what would you do for those who saved the lives of children or those who never tire of getting aid to the survivors, during the recent earthquake in Venezuela?
En primer lugar, pienso que el pueblo venezolano ha sido muy rápido al actuar ante esta situación; hay personas de todos los estados del país dentro de los lugares donde ocurrieron daños graves. Hay mucha gente solidaria y personas que tal vez no tienen los recursos o la formación para poder ser de ayuda y aun así han salvado muchas vidas, incluyendo la vida de animales que también se han encontrado entre los escombros. Pero estar constantemente en el lugar donde se ven todo tipo de situaciones, sobre todo de personas que se encuentran muy lastimadas y buscando con esperanza a sus familiares desaparecidos, hace que el peso sea aún más fuerte. No solo las personas que quedaron atrapadas en los escombros son las que necesitan ser consoladas y ayudadas por la situación; también los que rescatan y sirven de soporte y contención necesitan apoyo, sobre todo porque no es sencillo experimentar y ver tanta desolación y momentos de angustia que se viven en los lugares donde ofrecen su servicio como apoyo a los más afectados. Las personas que ayudan en este momento merecen también recibir apoyo emocional porque ver tantas cosas y estar en persona viviendo esta situación hace que cualquier ser humano se desgaste emocionalmente. Si se pudiera hacer algo por los que apoyan y ayudan en esta causa, pienso que sería darles apoyo psicológico y también estar seguros de que reciben atención médica, porque muchos han estado desde el primer día y, aunque han sido apoyados por otras personas, sé que habrá muchos que no han comido adecuadamente o incluso no están teniendo la hidratación que necesitan o los equipos necesarios para no salir lastimados de toda la búsqueda que hacen entre los escombros.
Firstly, I think the Venezuelan people have been very quick to respond to this situation; there are people from every state in the country in the areas where serious damage has occurred. There are many people showing solidarity, and people who may not have the resources or training to be of help, yet have still saved many lives, including those of animals that have also been found amongst the rubble. But being constantly in a place where you witness all sorts of situations – particularly of people who are seriously injured and searching hopefully for their missing relatives – makes the burden feel even heavier. It is not only the people trapped in the rubble who need comfort and help in this situation; those who are carrying out rescues and providing support and reassurance also need support, particularly as it is not easy to experience and witness such desolation and moments of anguish in the places where they are offering their services to support those most affected. The people who are helping at this time also deserve emotional support, because witnessing so much and being there in person to experience this situation takes an emotional toll on anyone. If there were anything that could be done for those who are supporting and helping with this cause, I think it would be to provide them with psychological support and also to ensure they receive medical care, because many have been there since day one and, although they have been supported by others, I know there will be many who have not eaten properly or are not even getting the hydration they need, nor do they have the necessary equipment to avoid getting hurt whilst searching through the rubble.

How can we keep the door open for donations from other countries so Venezuela can buy blankets and flashlights for the child survivors who are in a difficult situation?
Hay muchas instituciones sin fines de lucro que están recibiendo el apoyo de personas tanto dentro del país como fuera de él Siento que hay mucha desconfianza al momento de querer ayudar, pero no saber en quién confiar porque se han visto casos de personas queriendo aprovechar la situación para robarse los insumos o el dinero que se ha recibido. Creo que debemos leer mucho y ver fuentes fidedignas donde sepamos que estamos aportando y que la ayuda sí está llegando a las personas que lo necesitan. En el caso de Hive, hay varias personas que se han visto afectadas con la pérdida de sus viviendas y una forma de ayudar ha sido crear posts y el dinero generado por los mismos enviarlo a la persona afectada directamente a su cuenta. También existe la posibilidad de que las personas puedan aportar, además de crear posts, compartiendo la información que sea real y fidedigna a través de redes sociales; es una posibilidad para que tenga más alcance la información y pueda llegar incluso a países de otros idiomas. Se necesita mucho apoyo con comida, medicinas, artículos de uso personal e incluso carpas y cosas que sean de utilidad para los damnificados; si está en sus posibilidades enviar el dinero o mencionar a personas influyentes dentro de las redes, puede servir de mucha ayuda. Porque la noticia puede pasar después de tantos días, pero la situación sigue siendo la misma y las necesidades de las personas se deben atender independientemente del tiempo que ha pasado. Si está en sus posibilidades, pueden crear posts o simplemente compartir la información; se hace más viral la situación y podemos llegar a ayudar a las personas que lo necesitan en este momento. Incluso si alguno puede ser de ayuda con sus propios conocimientos, siendo médicos, enfermeros, psicólogos, ingenieros, médicos veterinarios... Sería de mucha ayuda en estos momentos de tanta necesidad y de mucha vulnerabilidad en personas de la tercera edad, niños, adolescentes y adultos, incluyendo también personas con alguna discapacidad que requieran un tratamiento especial. Ninguna ayuda es poca; cualquier aporte hace una gran diferencia para cada una de las personas que en este momento necesitan de un abrazo y el apoyo de todos como comunidad.
There are many non-profit organisations receiving support from people both within the country and abroad. I feel there is a great deal of mistrust when it comes to wanting to help, but not knowing who to trust, because there have been cases of people trying to take advantage of the situation to steal the supplies or the money that has been received. I think we need to do a lot of research and consult reliable sources so that we know where our contributions are going and that the aid is actually reaching the people who need it. In the case of Hive, there are several people who have been affected by the loss of their homes, and one way to help has been to create posts and send the money raised from them directly to the affected person’s account. There is also the possibility for people to contribute, in addition to creating posts, by sharing accurate and reliable information via social media; this is a way of ensuring the information reaches a wider audience and can even reach countries where other languages are spoken. There is a great need for support in the form of food, medicines, personal hygiene items and even tents and other useful items for those affected; if you are able to send money or tag influential people on social media, this can be of great help. Because whilst the news may fade after so many days, the situation remains the same and people’s needs must be met regardless of how much time has passed. If you’re able to, please create posts or simply share the information; this will help the message spread more widely and enable us to reach and help those who need it right now. Even if you can offer assistance through your own expertise – whether as doctors, nurses, psychologists, engineers, vets… It would be a huge help at this time of such great need and vulnerability amongst the elderly, children, teenagers and adults, including people with disabilities who require special care. No amount of help is too small; any contribution makes a huge difference to each and every person who, right now, needs a hug and the support of us all as a community.

La verdad que es una tarea compleja y super honorable la de las personas que ayudan a rescatar personas y animales, no debe ser nada fácil las situaciones que tienen que enfrentar. Bien dicen por ahí que en las catástrofes todos nos unimos para ayudar, no importa de donde seamos, eso es genial y humaniza mucho.
