Hola a todos en la comunidad de Holos & Lotus, espero que todos hayan tenido una muy buena semana. Hace algunos meses atrás por alguna razón me topé con un proyecto de un joven llamado Ben West quien es activista y creador de la página web: Razones para quedarse. La historia de la página fue por la pérdida de su hermano debido al suicidio, fue una forma de él querer contribuir con el apoyo a las personas que necesiten ese alivio o mensaje de esperanza en medio de las dificultades, donde podemos llegar a ver todo el panorama de la vida muy nublado.

Esta página me pareció muy increíble e importante, ya que se basa en que puedas dejar cartas o mensajes que pueda leer cualquier persona en el mundo en un momento de angustia. En medio del dolor de la pérdida de su hermano, Ben busco la forma de canalizar su dolor y además, convertirse en un medio para que otros pudieran ser luz en medio de la oscuridad. Esta página no requiere la creación de una cuenta, tan solo con entrar en la página Reasonstostay te envía directamente un mensaje anónimo lleno de esperanza y de parte de otra persona que también vivió momentos de dolor, y que con su mensaje busca darle un respiro de esperanza a quien lo lea en ese instante.

Parece algo muy básico, pero hoy en día donde hay tantos cambios, donde existen tantas personas sufriendo debido a diferentes dificultades y donde los servicios psicológicos y psiquiátricos son sumamente caros, y los públicos llenos de listas interminables de pacientes requiriendo ayuda. Es esperanzador poder encontrar por medio del internet a alguien que sabe lo que es perder a alguien y no haber podido salvarle, también sabe que se siente estar deprimido o sin una forma clara de ver el mundo después de tan lamentable experiencia personal. Es alguien común que decidió dar el paso por su hermano, por quienes ya no están y por quienes aún están pero que sienten que la vida es una carga muy pesada.

La primera vez que entre en la página me generó una sensación de tranquilidad y paz, los mensajes aunque están en inglés en su mayoría, se pueden traducir para llegar a comprender mejor lo que estamos leyendo. Hay mensajes cortos otros más largos, pero todos igual de importantes, donde personas de cualquier rincón del mundo deciden anónimamente abrir su corazón y dejar un mensaje donde pueden contar parte de su experiencia y también como es posible que las cosas puedan mejorar, ya que la vida no siempre va a ser completamente gris, existen cambios y en ellos podemos encontrar cuando menos lo esperemos lo que hemos estado queriendo para aliviar y mejorar nuestra vida.

Me parece muy importante que cualquier persona que sienta que las cosas le sobrepasan, pueda encontrar una página como está que tal vez no es una solución definitiva a todos los problemas que tengamos, pero si que es un apoyo y da la sensación de sentirnos menos solos en el mundo. Ben logró que detrás de una historia de dolor y de amor, pudiera existir un nuevo capítulo para dar el mismo apoyo que seguramente dio a su hermano en vida. Es una forma positiva de incentivar a las personas a abrirse emocionalmente y también a recibir aquel abrazo a través de palabras escritas detrás de una pantalla.

Realmente les recomiendo buscar el sitio web, no sé si podía colocar el link directo aquí en Hive, pero pueden encontrar la página con el nombre Reasons to Stay y leer automáticamente el mensaje que les de la página de una persona que pasó también por momentos difíciles pero que decidió seguir y confiar en que las cosas podrían cambiar. It is an ordinary person who decided to take the step for his brother, for those who are no longer here, and for those who are still here but feel that life is a very heavy burden.

The first time I entered the page, it gave me a sense of tranquility and peace. Although the messages are mostly in English, they can be translated to better understand what we are reading. There are short messages and longer ones, but all are equally important, where people from any corner of the world anonymously decide to open their hearts and leave a message where they can share part of their experience and also how it is possible for things to get better. Life is not always going to be completely gray; there are changes, and within them, when we least expect it, we can find what we have been wanting to soothe and improve our lives.

I think it is very important that anyone who feels overwhelmed by things can find a page like this. It might not be a definitive solution to all the problems we have, but it is a support system and it gives the feeling of making us feel less alone in the world. Behind a story of pain and love, Ben managed to create a new chapter to give the same support that he surely gave to his brother in life. It is a positive way to encourage people to open up emotionally and also to receive that embrace through written words behind a screen.
