Midnight Patrol - Ghost of Tsushima.

While riding at night, I ambushed a Mongol patrol. After being knocked off my horse, I cut down the squad using parries and stance changes, including a spearman fought in Wind Stance. I found a tied-up hostage, but could not free him due to unseen nearby enemies.

I noticed a Mongol patrol nearby while I was riding around in the dark. I decided to head straight for them to see what they were doing out at such a late hour of the night.

After sprinting toward the group on horseback, I attempted to unleash a critical attack on one of the mounted riders, but the action prompt never appeared on screen.

The Mongol rider struck me instead, knocking me straight off my mount and onto the ground.

I immediately went after him as the rest of his squad came running toward my position. I executed him in front of his comrades, leaving the entire unit to witness his quick death.

The remaining Mongols closed in and began swinging their weapons. After dodging a few initial blows, I began taking them down one by one.

A heavy shield bearer stepped forward to block my path, forcing me to switch my fighting stance to break through his defense. I took him down with ease while the rest of the guards circled around, looking for an opening to strike.

Another shield bearer charged at me immediately, but I parried his blow and cut him down on the spot.

That left only three enemies remaining on the field. I eliminated them without even bothering to change my stance, leaving just one final Mongol standing at a distance, wielding a long spear.

I shifted into Wind Stance to deal with the spearman, focusing on dodging his incoming strikes first since I knew those long-range thrusts could not be parried.

Once I evaded his opening attack, I struck back hard. He did not put up much of a struggle and went down real quickly, bringing an end to the entire Mongol squad.

With the fight over, I searched the area and discovered a peasant tied up on the ground. It appeared the Mongols had killed his horse and taken him hostage.

However, the prompt to free the man never appeared on screen because the game indicated that enemies were still nearby, even though I could not see anyone left in the area.

I scanned the surroundings once more, but finding no one else around, I had no choice but to leave the hostage behind as he was too terrified to move.
