Traces of the Fallen - Ghost of Tsushima.

I accompanied Masako back to the shoreline where the opening battle against the Mongols took place. Together, we searched through scattered clan banners, dead horses, and fallen warriors across the beach. Our search finally led us toward a tragic discovery connected to her family's final moments during the initial assault.

Masako mentioned that she still needed to find this part of the beach. So she actually came here to look for the body of her family. I saw that this was the exact same place where we fought the Mongols at the beginning of the story, the very shore from where we had to escape.

As we moved across the sand, we found one of Masako's soldiers lying alone. It seemed like he was deserted during the chaos. Jin mentioned that no one fled when her husband fell in battle. It was a small comfort to Masako knowing that truth. She then asked Jin to keep his eyes open for more of their family banners.

I needed to search for the other Adachi banners scattered around the area. I moved ahead alone while she searched on the other side, splitting up so we could cover more ground. I also figured it would save us some time.

Before long, I found another Adachi banner sticking out near some dead horses and fallen people. Hearing that I had located something, Masako came running over toward the spot to inspect the area herself.

This man was riding down the beach when he fell. Masako mentioned that we should continue searching in that direction. So we now needed to follow the remaining Adachi banners across the shore to find more answers about what took place.

Looking closely at the scene, it appeared there was a Kikuchi banner as well, lying right alongside the Adachi banners. It looked like Masako did not recognize this specific body. Jin mentioned that her brother-in-law could be somewhere close by, but she insisted she just needed to find her sons right now.

Further up the sand lay another one of our banners. It looked like the horse of Jin that fell during the battle. He almost died right alongside the horse during that initial charge. We kept following the trail of banners, hoping each step would lead us to clearer answers.

It turned out there were Nagao warriors here as well. The Nagao archers managed to bring down many Mongols before they were overcome, just as Jin mentioned. Masako remarked that their archery skill was unmatched on the field. Jin added that if only Sensei Ishikawa had been with them during the fight, things might have turned out very differently.

Further along the shoreline, I spotted Jin's uncle's banner, the red one standing out against the grey sand. I could see more fallen people gathered around it. Jin admitted he feared it was his uncle when he first saw the banners lying beside the fallen men during the battle.

This was the very place where they made their final stand. Masako then found someone who was a close friend of her sons. Seeing him there made it sound like her sons must be somewhere very nearby on this beach.

Going back to the exact beach where the whole story began made this completely different. Seeing it covered with the remains of the battle really showed just how devastating that opening assault had been.

Going back there after everything Jin had experienced should give the location a completely different meaning.

This mission seems very familiar, like I read this before somewhere. Probably here. Are there many missions like like this?

Well, each mission has unique story. But there's another gamer sharing his experience on the same game and he's ahead of me so maybe you saw it in his post.

I really liked the moment Masako found the Adachi banner near the dead horses. It felt like every banner was giving her another small clue about what happened to her family during the battle.

That Adachi banner near the dead horses was such an emotional discovery for her.

I was surprised to see Jin's uncle's red banner among the fallen warriors. Since Jin remembered seeing it during the battle, that moment brought back some painful memories.

That was an emotional way to show how the battlefield was still haunting Jin.
