Entry for the Shadow Contest/SMASh - Round 447 - By the beach

A couple of days back I was at the beach one of the mornings, and these shadow pictures I have taken in the park near the beach. It's a bright sunny day and the weather is also nice to be outdoors. Though it's still not very pleasant, it's manageable.

This is a shadow of Palm Trees. These trees are culturally cherished here in Oman and also an agricultural symbol. The dates that come from palm trees is the national fruit of Oman. Oman is also one of the largest exporters of Dates. They are a very healthy fruit and a good alternative for sugar also. Anywhere in Oman if you visit their local places, you will be served with Dates and Omani coffee as a welcome gesture. Here the locals have their own date farms, and they make variety of sweets from dates. During the holy month of Ramadan, people who do fasting they break their fast with having dates first and then they consume other foods.

Here are the shadow pictures for the shadow contest.

While coconut trees are prevalent throughout the Philippines, I only knew that palm trees are equally abundant in Oman.

I've only tried dates once, when a friend gave me some, and that was a long time ago.
