How did I get to Hive and why am I still here?

It always feels good to go back in past and look at your journey, specially the one which has been so fulfilling. So let me share with you all my Journey on Hive. It's not that I am sharing it for the first time, I have done it in the past as well some aspects of it and I never miss the opportunity.

If you wish to also share your journey, please do. It will be wonderful to read your experience as well. This is an initiative by @themarkymark - How did you get here and why are you still here?

How did I get to Hive

23rd July 2017 was the day when I was introduced to Hive, absolutely with no idea what I was going to do here. I had not heard of the platform till then and my husband gave me this information. He also accidentally stumbled on it while checking out some Crypto sites.
I did not even have much knowledge of Cryptos then, all I knew was Bitcoin is one virtual currency which is moving up in it's price very fast. And we have always been told, that quick gains are never safe and they are all frauds. While my Son was studying on BTC that time, so he was giving me a fair idea and also insisting that I should invest something in it, I was hesitant though. For me the world of Crypto that time was only BTC.

So when I started with Hive (Steem) first of all the reward system was completely going above my head, the difference between Hive, Hive Power and HBD all of them were so confusing for me.
Everything was actually confusing for me to understand. All I knew was I enjoy writing and this is the platform which gives me opportunity. Before that I was regularly writing on Speaking Tree, but there was hardly any visibility and again at that time I had a full time job in hand so I was not able to dedicate much time on it.

But when Hive came into picture, I was jobless, and I was feeling very frustrated about not being able to generate my own income. I did not have a need to work for money but I was feeling some type of emptiness. I had moved to a new land, new people and everything was a change for me. As it is, I was in a emotional turmoil. I was feeling like, life has suddenly become so empty and come to a halt.

When Hive was introduced I decided to start with it. The first 1 month, I goofed up a lot and I was also bashed up by the whales. I was seeing big earnings for others and I was getting in cents, I wanted to make a place for myself, so I was going anyhow. I would notice that the people who earned big were mostly who wrote on Cryptos, and I had no knowledge to write on that subject, so I had many doubts in my mind of my survival. I had all the withdrawal symptoms.

Then I met a kind person on Hive @ana-maria who guided me about the Hive discipline. I started participating in contest, where I started getting single digit earnings on my post. Though there was nothing great happening but it was still moving.

But it was not motivating me enough, because no one was even reading my post. My topics were Crystals, Yoga, Meditations, Psychology and they are still the same. So I was feeling no one is reading my post, and I am not even getting any earnings so is it worth to put my energy into it. For the first 4 month nothing much happened.

Then my husband stepped in, he would encourage me to write. The only thing that kept me going was my desire to write, he bought 5k Steem for me and increased my power just to make me feel good, but that worked a bit. I could start giving out some value in my vote. The 5th month November was the turning point for me. I started getting support from 1 big whale @amiramnoam. He has quit long time back and withdrawn his stake, but his support was tremendous in boosting my post value. Then I started getting support from @canadian-coconut, which was very valuable for me. I became member of @thealliance community which was started by @enginewitty. My first community. Their content was nothing about Cryptos, it was so much aligned to my preferences so I was very comfortable. Then there was no looking back.

And you can see where I am right now. A lot of people to thank in this journey but there are some who have been significant and with me right from the beginning. Their trust and faith means a lot to me, and I will do my best to live up to their expectations.

Why am I still here

Well people who know me well here, know it that I am working on building up my capital to work on a cause. I have to start a Children center to support the underprivileged kids back in India, I need finance for that and this is one of the biggest reason for me to be still here. My projects have already started. It is said that when you work on something dedicatedly even the Universe supports and I have no doubts in that. The way I get supported on my post values, for some it is a dream. I have come in eyes of many, but I am not concerned of that. I have to just work and fulfill my life purpose. I will do it as much as I can and as long as I can.

The other thing that keeps me going is my love for writing. Every night when I go to sleep I have so many things coming on my mind which I want to pen down. It's been 4 years to writing and I still feel that there is so much that I still want to share and express. Plus this is one forum where I also express myself without the fear of getting judged There are many times when I have expressed my mood swings, how I feel, how I react, and when I write, it also becomes a reflection point for me. These things are important for me for my self-growth. Another aspect is that there are such wonderful communities here and there is so much to learn every single day. I have been motivated here to start with Gardening and growing my own food. Some beautiful things are happening everyday.

Hive has become part of me now. Well I am powering down, but I am not ending, I will build up again. But now to power down is necessary to start working on projects by taking an exit at the right time, else it will make no sense of all the efforts gone in the last 4 years to fulfill my dream.

something that we can do and succeed at"

Count me as another one who started with Steemit and then moved to Hive. I took a break for a long while but now I'm back and hopeful that this community will last.

It is either that the Community will last or that we need to make the most till the Community last :-)
I hope you get the enthusiasm to continue here.

The other thing that keeps me going is my love for writing.

I think, that is the key for you to achieve success - and the initial power added as well. It's difficult to taste success here, without writing on a daily basis. One can invest and earn from curation though (like me).

I cant believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do.. click at this go to tech tab for more details…>>>> https://www.Nifty2.com

Yes, it is like a constant run, else it's like out of sight, out of mind. Curation is also a good activity to get returns on your investment and you are always on top of it, so it's nice to see returns coming rather then your funds getting stagnant.

I have always wanted to hear a detailed but concise story from an hiver of how they started with little or no support to how thing changed, and what they did to cause the turn arround- the hiver success story.

And here it is. Everyone can relate to one point or the other. Your husband support should be applauded. Then the part of a whale taking note and picking interest in you is the moment of turnaround.

I hope to one-day post a step-by-step article on how I became relevant on the hivers' platform. To give people hope just as yours is giving.

I pray your desire to help less privileged kids in India becomes successful... Thanks.
