These are some interesting questions for the week.

If I am at a party and someone passes derogatory remark on me, what will I do?

If I would hear negative things about me, I will surely not like it. But my action on it will all depend on who the person is who is talking negative things about me. If the person is not known to me, I might just reach out to the person and slam him or her even without wanting to know why he or she is doing such a thing. Or I might just completely ignore the person; I may not feel a need to confront or justify or even slam the person. It may just not affect me in any way. I'll take it as some bad mouth yapping his or her own frustration and ignore the person. In this world, not everyone is going to be pleased with you and there will always be someone who will be unhappy with you or your success in life and will bad mouth on you. I would not want to waste my energy on such people.

If the person is very well known to me then it will surely make a lot of difference to me. Before I go ahead with any reactions I will try to find out the reason on why negative words are coming for me. Possibly unknowingly I may have hurt that person or not been nice and hence the bitterness. If I feel it's my fault, I will apologize and sort out the situation. If I feel it's not my fault then I will try to make the person understand my side of story. If the person still carries negative emotions for me then I will distance out from that person.

It is not a one solution to this situation. It all depends on who the person is, under what situation the person is talking negative about me, basis that I will react and take my necessary action.

I am still not a mother-in-law, couple of more years till I become one. I have only one son and always missed a daughter, so my son's wife is not going to be any less then my own daughter. I would want to have a very warm, loving and a cordial relationship. My son is a grown-up boy, and we share a good bond, sometimes he is like my friend as well and I would want same relationship with my daughter-in-law. As it is, there is so much stress in the world and I do not wish any stress in my home life. Like I listen to my son when needed, I will listen to her as well. I will like to have a more friendly relationship rather than authoritative type.
