Ladies of Hive Community Contest #309 - Making assumptions

@LadiesofHive Community Contest #309 questions for the week are:

1️⃣ Tell us about a time when someone made a wrong assumption about you, without knowing the facts. How did you deal with it? How did it make you feel?
~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~
2️⃣ We recently wrote about our favorite colors and how they make us feel. But, how has your favorite color changed over time? What prompted that change?

This is not one of a situation, it is a very common situation for me, it happens very often with me. The problem is that I do not like to talk much on the phone, even if they are my close people. I keep it short and to the point all phone call conversations, and because of that people find me arrogant. Those who know me well, know this part of me and hence they know it is normal for me.

For those who do not know me well or are having first time conversations with me on the phone, feel that I am very arrogant. Only when they meet me in person, they change this assumption made in their mind and in real they find me extremely friendly. It's just that on the phone I do not come out nice and soft. I know this is an issue and I understand it.

First impressions are important and I understand that this first impression has a long-lasting effect on the mind, whether it is phone or in real. People do care about how they feel when they interact with you. For me also it is very important and hence I have tried to change myself. To an extent I am successful but there are times when I am not mindful about it and it just happens. You can say it is my grey area to work on and improve.

My favorite color has been blue and still is but then at some point I realized that in my wardrobe also I had majority of blues and there was very little of other color in it. So consciously I have been trying to shift from blue to other colors to be more colorful and get all colors in my life. Though grey is the color which I am still not very fond of. Rest my preferences have changed from blue to multi colors just to be sparkier and more colorful in life.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

When you do not see the person, it is very easy to misinterpret

It is always better to keep phone conversations brief, as most people's assumptions are incorrect—and you are proof of that.

Keeping it brief can become an issue again especially when the opposite person wants to talk :-)

I am introvert kind of person so talking with the strangers is kind of awkward for me most of the time. Even though I talk in chat with a lot of people when I told him that I am an introvert a Shy kind of person they don't believe me. I think we all are different and as you have shared your point of you and sometimes it's not good to judge people early. But most of the time you all judge people and its basic human nature I think.

For me I like black colour a lot and as you have mentioned mam that your favourite is blue 🔵 I am also thinking nos this time I will try to bring some different color of clothes also 😬😜

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, everyone has different personalities. For introvert people, it is not that all the time they will shy off. There will be situations. For me, I am an introvert when I am in a group, but when I am one on one with a person I can talk about anything and everything.

Valuing those who wish to interact with you is truly meaningful—even when you don't particularly enjoy talking on the phone yet are trying to change that aspect of your personality. It is also deeply moving to see you embracing a variety of colors now in pursuit of a more cheerful, vibrant life. Have a lovely evening, my friend,

No one's perfect... If people can't see past that first impression it's a shame. But you are working on yourself, and that's what's important. So many people don't even try to bother to change or improve.

There's nothing wrong with blue, but expanding colors in your wardrobe might be fun. As a man we don't get that many options as far as colors go!

Yes being colorful looks good rather then getting stuck with one colour.
Everyone perceives the opposite person from what their own personality is, some people are too quick in forming judgements for others. After shifting to Muscat, because of this, it took me almost a year to actually start socializing within my own community people because their initial interactions on calls with me they felt were not very friendly.
