Sublime Sunday - Movie Bonanza
These last 2 weeks has been a movie feast for me. 2 back to back super classic movies got released, fist Michael and then this last week Devil Wears Prada. I was eagerly waiting for both of these releases. Michael made a quiet entry but then made a big bang, whereas Devil wears Prada as expected flaunted out in their extravagant promotions. Michael I had a hangover after watching it for the first time, so I watched it again on Thursday with my friends. I was just not able to get over it after the first watch.
Yesterday was Devil Wears Prada, and oh my God, Meryl's entry has been super classic. I wanted to whistle but I do not know how to. I am a big fan of both these ladies Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, they are the power combo in this movie. I was smiling through the movie watching both of them. Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, both have done equally good job in their roles. But to be honest, my eyes could not get off from Meryl.
In this part 2, the transition in to the Gen Z generation has been shown very well and how Miranda (Meryl) feels frustrated with the Gen Z etiquettes. Though I loved the movie I did not enjoy the tone down of Meryl's character. In part 1 she was ferocious, here she had be docile in many parts and the role felt confined. Of course it's the part of the character, but I would love to see her in her original vibe of part 1. Anne like part 1 has done a good job and her character has not been much hammered unlike Meryl's. Emily Blunt's character comes up with a good amount of boldness. And Stanley has been in a good supporting role like part 1. I just love and adore this team. They came back after 20 years and yet all of them look so fabulous and glamorous. Meryl seems to have stopped ageing. She looks more radiant then before also. He subtle humour shows up in many scenes.
The cherry on the cake is the Lady Gaga's special guest performance. I am not a huge fan of her but it was a good surprise and gelled well with the movie theme.
The grand entry of the super woman

How gorgeous even at 76

My 2 super power women in one frame. Enjoy watching them together

Lady Gaga's surprise performance.

I would love if they would come up with part 3 also, but it should be soon and not after another 20 years, because that would be then like Anne getting into Meryl's shoes. Some of these classics are iconic and there cannot be any match to them. I think I am going to watch this again just like Michael.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

You convinced me to buy two tickets to see Michael, haha. My son just told me he wanted to see it because he's heard such great reviews. Thanks!
Michael is amazing... I loved it. I watched it with my son last night, and we were both captivated; and you know what, I'm going to watch it again, hahaha
It does spin you for a second watch, I had a hangover for a week and had to watch it the second time
It's indeed a very good watch and super performance
That Meryl-Streep-as-76 Meryl shot, she’s defying gravity.
