I had always wanted a garden area in my home. Whenever I used to visit homes that had a garden in front of the home, I would always think some day I too would have such a garden. In city, staying in apartments the vibe is different. There is balcony but there is no provision of having a proper garden in front of the home with a lawn and all.

In my new holiday home when I was planning, the first thing I had in my mind was to have small gardens in front of the home. Normally people in my locality do not prefer to have garden with lawns because there is a lot of maintenance required and it's an ongoing effort. For me it was my dream, so there was no second thought. Rather I have plans in future to extend the lawn area and grow more flowers.

Growing plants in pots and in direct ground soil is a big difference. In summer there is so much color in the garden, during monsoon nothing stands due to extreme rainfall and very harsh winds, which is like almost 4 months, but after that everything starts blooming again. Some time back I had planted Tulsi along with the Roses, and now the Tulsi plant has grown big. This one stays during monsoon as well.

It's beautifully growing. I use it daily in my herbal tea as well. There is good amount of use I make in the kitchen so the more the better. Right now there are 2 of them. I had only planted one, the seeds of it fell and by itself the second one also started growing.

The front part of the home should be made such that when we step out we feel good looking around and somewhere I have been able to create that for myself. It's not a very big garden, but I do feel good with what is there.

On a clear day this is what I enjoy in the garden.

Probably by next year the garden will be double in size from what it is now.
