The Medical facilities we Indians take for granted

I have quite a few friends living in different parts of the world, when I talk to them, their one major concern is about getting prompt and affordable medical facilities in their countries. In some countries you need to wait for days and sometimes even months to get Doctor's appointment. My friend who lives in London, sometime back she had a dental issue, and she asked for an appointment, she got one after 6 months and till then she was advised to take some painkillers. I find it absurd.

In India we can just into a Doctor's clinic, sometimes even without an appointment it is ok, you will not be turned down, you will be attended. If someone is unwell even with something like a normal flu, the Doctor can come home and visit and do the treatment. Yes they do charge additional but then it is still much cheaper compared to other parts of the world. Every 6 months I get my blood work done, and the pathologist comes to my home and takes the blood sample. I do not have to step out of my home unless and test which is equipment related need to be done. The reports are sent to me on my email within 24 to 48 hours. All of this happens at a very reasonable cost and no premium charges for it.

Here almost all of us have our family Doctor to go to for any minor issues, they have independent clinics and they will attend you any time you want. There are some Doctors who will also attend to you at midnight if need be. During my mother in law's illness in the last year of her life, there were many times when she would collapse during night hours. I would call the Doctor and without any hesitation he would come to attend her. Ambulance services are quick, medical equipment's can be rented at home.

Some of us Indian keep complaining about our life in India, but they forget all the convenience they have in our Country. We have the Doctor, the Bank, Insurance, Grocery, Utilities, and thing you want come home. All facilities are just call away, there is no long waiting period. India from the outside may not look a very organized country, you will find ample flaws with the systems and at the same time it is the Country where one get maximum benefits and convenience.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

It's good that medical treatment is readily available and reasonable in price there. Here in the US thing are just too expensive, and it's even worse to talk about dentists. You almost have to sell your arm, a leg, and a kidney just to get a tooth fixed! Great post!

Yes, some of my friends who live in US, they get all of these problems sorted out when they travel to India. Sometimes they say the ticket is cheaper then paying to the Doctor

It wouldn't surprise me. I knew people who went to Mexico for dental work for years until the cartels started killing everybody. Now you can't even really safely go to Mexico anymore, which is a shame because it's such a pretty country with such nice people. Healthcare here is just out of control, how is it where you live now?
