The part of Delhi where India works
During my Delhi visit, on one of the days me and family, we all went sightseeing. Plan was to visit the Lotus Temple, I had a desire of that, but on reaching it was a nightmare. The line to the Temple was almost a kilometer long, it was a hot sunny day and none of my people wanted to stand in that long line in heat. It would have taken a minimum of 2 hours to get inside, so then we dropped the idea. But we were out and we had time at hand, so we decided to visit the area in Delhi where the Parliament building is there, and that whole area has other Ministry offices and it is also a residential area of top political people.
It's a 5 to 6 km stretch where you can say India functions from and all decisions are taken here. Big bungalows of all the ministers are here, including the Prime Minister's. There is an old parliament building and a new one as well, which has been operational past few years. To be honest, visiting this place feels very different. It just makes you wonder that this is the place in the Country where 1.4 billon people are controlled from.
Sharing some pictures from the morning outing.
This is the old parliament building which has been inaugurated in 2023. It's the current working parliament building.

This is the old one which is now a Samvidhan Sadan. It cannot be seen clearly due to trees.

This area is called the Vijay Chowk. The left side is the north block where the Ministry of Home Affairs and Finance is there and on the right is the south block where the Ministry of Defense and External Affairs and the Prime Minister's office is there.

The center dome is the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President's home.

On the opposite side is the India Gate, which I already shared before of my visit to the India Gate. This is the view from the other side.

If I were in the same situation, I wouldn’t be willing to stand in such a long line either, especially in that kind of heat. If the weather were cooler, I wouldn’t mind waiting, but standing under the scorching sun is a different story. I’d be perfectly fine with not getting inside the temple.
By the way, the india gate looks really beautiful! You captured it so well, and the photo turned out great.
The Lotus Temple is beautiful and it was my wish to see, may be this was not the right time.
