The weather of Middle East

A few days back the heavy rains and floods in UAE and Oman news was all over the place. All my friends and family back home in India kept on messaging me to check if all was ok at my end since they were watching some dreadful videos of floods in the Oman and UAE on the internet. And yes, life was pretty much normal for me. There were problems but not in the city. In the interiors the scenes were bad, there were floods at many places and it was risky to drive in those areas. Some of the areas were very bad where cars were being swept off in the water and there was lot of damage to other property as well.

I checked with some of my friends in Dubai, if those messages were genuine cause these days too much of fakeness is also there on the internet and they too confirmed that at some places it was very bad. Thinking about this whole rain and floods issue, it was not a very heavy rainfall also to disrupt life so much. In Mumbai city we have rains which is much more than this and there is a proper rainy season for 4 months. If such rainfall happens here then the entire city will be wiped off.

The infrastructure in Middle East looks very glamorous from the outside, and it looks all very showy but it is not equipped to handle any kind of extreme weather conditions. With just a one day rainfall, we have so many potholes on the city road, that's a different thing that they get immediately repaired and people do not face any inconvenience.

Dubai is heavily into cloud seeding and that's resulting into this rainfall. They may have not estimated that it would result into such a heavy rainfall that could disrupt their infrastructure. Specially the old parts of the city are the most impacted and the same here in Oman as well. Muscat does not have much of impact, but the old parts of the city and the interiors some parts have been badly hit with the rainfall. For multiple days there were holidays in school for the safety of the children. On one of the days even the offices were instructed to be closed as it was a heavy impact day.

The last few days have been completely dry in both the Countries and I do not think it is going to rain any more. But we can never say, it's very unpredictable. These rains are not the result of global warming, this is an entirely artificially induced rainfall. Technology has no limits nowadays. As we say, we can really use it wisely to improve our life conditions. These methods can be adapted in so many parts of the world where there is lack of rainfall and in draught areas, where people are dying because of scarcity of water. Rains are so important for growing food and for the water consumption on day to day basis. At the same time I also believe that unless needed we must not keep on tampering with nature.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

It's such a relief to hear that you are doing well. I agree with you, nature shouldn't be tampered with except when needed, because the result is almost always devastating.

They are doing the cloud seeding activity to induce rains

I've heard the news and watched a couple videos about it. My thinking was that it's because of global warming/climate change. Cloud seeding sounds interesting, areas that are experiencing drought could do well with it.

Yes, it is a brilliant innovation but needs to be done with care
