Visit to the China Market

Last evening, I made a visit to China Market. Here in Muscat, we have quite a few Asian Markets, like the Thai market, Dragon market and some others as well. China market is the biggest from all of these. These markets have a good range of products which includes household items, beauty products, clothing, footwear, accessories, home appliances, decor and what not and the prices are cheap in comparison to other brands and markets of the city. But what I found missing was man related products. It looked more like a ladies market. There was not a single shop which had man's clothing or accessories. It is a one-stop solution to all the home needs and for the ladies. I did not have anything particular in mind, my friends were going so I decided to tag along. The market is huge, there are a total of 8 entrance and exit points so one can easily get lost if not taken a note of the entry gate.

The market is far from my home, around 40 minutes' drive and since it's a huge place to go around, so we started early evening and reached there by 5.

There is a big food court on the 1st level and at the entrance there was 1 shop which served some munchies

A counter of home fragrances. These are all local fragrances and not really linked to Asian culture and you will find them in all the markets. Most of these fragrances are made of frankincense. I also use these products for home, but I buy it from the local market as the variety available there is much more.

There are quite a few stores of electronics, these are all small items like the mobile phones, speakers and such things. The bigger items are not available here. Again, electronics, I would not prefer to buy from this place. It would be better to buy it from authorized dealers.

There are toy shops for children's toys and clothing and some very fancy toys are available.

Lots of shops of ladies' handbags and clothes. I bought 2 handbags as I got a very good deal. They have brand logos on it, but they are duplicate.
image.png

I wanted a small black bag since some time and this was a good one that I liked and the other one, I liked the color, something very different and not in my collection. For 1 it was 3 OMR which is equal to 8 USD and if you buy 2 then there was a discount of 1 OMR. You get 2 in 5 OMR which is equal to 13 USD.
image.png

Even on clothing there were similar deals. You buy more then you get better prices. I wanted to buy some night wear, which I got a good deal. I bought 4 of them and 1 track pants which again I got a very good deal of 3 OMR. In all I shopped for 15 OMR which is equal to 39 USD and felt that it was a good deal for everything that I purchased.

After finishing going through the ground level, we went on the 1st floor where there are all home furnishings and decor shops. I wanted to take a look to get ideas for my new home, especially the garden arrangements which are the Gazebo and the Garden fountain.

I liked this design which is simple and open
image.png

Hubby liked this one. It looks nice but I found this a little congested and the seating is fixed so it leaves no room to move around. Whereas the one I liked you can place the table and chairs the way you want and also move around as needed.
image.png

This is another one an enclosed one, but again this one also I find it very limited. Anyways we were not buying these, we wanted to get ideas on the design and that purpose is served.
image.png

The water fountains were the other pieces that we wanted to see for our garden and there is a good collection to check out.

I liked these 2, which me and hubby both had the same taste.

Let me show you something very funny now. There is an art gallery where there is a portrait of Monalisa, the twist is that it's an Arabian Monalisa....haha. I laughed my heart out looking at this portrait.

Later we just strolled through the floor to take a quick glance of the other things available.
image.png

The food court had all Chinese food outlets. Was not really interested in eating out so gave it a pass and then we started our journey to way back home.

By the time I reached home it was almost midnight and was tired. It also became a nice evening walk. I checked my count steps and it was near to 6k which fulfilled my daily walking target.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

This market is similar to oyingbo market we have here in lagos. With the varieties of good and service to get at affordable price. Quality and also quantity. This market is colorful and flamboyant. Looking at the people that troupe in to get their goods. The art gallery is fantastic. I'm sure you had a nice time, only that you were stressed and that is normal for market after walking through many stores. I love the design you capture quite different from the one I have seen before. All the images you took are fantastic.

Thank you, the market is big and needs good enough time to explore. But then after a point you also feel that most of the shops are selling the same things, so you can just walk through some of them.

Yes, you are right. You just have to walk through the stores to compare to price and quality.

I have never been to China but I heard that things are very cheap over there which is making me feel like I need to visit China someday and I hope that dream comes true.

I have never been to China, nor do I ever want to. This place has never fancied me much and to be very honest I do not have a liking towards this place. Yes, but the china products are cheap and once in a way I get them :-)

The market is so colourful with so many products, the bags you got your hands on are nice too. Talking about the market not having man clothes might be just one reason, which is unlike women, man hardly buy stuffs for themselves so most market people will rather buy things for consumers who are always spending

I guess the man mostly go for branded items whereas we woman like to buy variety and change more often.

Oww, so many nice products to choose from at this market. I think it will take me a whole day before I get to decide what to buy or maybe just spend the entire day window shopping. 😅
