As I mentioned in my previous post, I was thinking about seeing a movie these past few days, so I had to go to the Marina Plaza Shopping Center, since the only movie theater in the city of Cumaná is located there.

This shopping center was built in one of the most beautiful areas of our city, known to everyone as Marina Cumanagoto. It was inaugurated in 1985 and for a long time was a tourist attraction and served as a dock for luxurious and important national and international vessels. Sailboats, yachts, and foreign ships arrived here, full of tourists eager to explore our city.

Este centro comercial se construyó en una de las zonas más bellas de nuestra ciudad, conocida por todos como Marina Cumanagoto. Fue inaugurado en 1985 y durante mucho tiempo fue un atractivo turístico y sirvió como muelle para lujosos e importantes buques nacionales e internacionales. Veleros, yates y barcos extranjeros llegaban aquí, repletos de turistas deseosos de explorar nuestra ciudad.

This place is easy to get to. You can go in your own car or take public transportation, specifically the buses marked with the Brasil-Terminal route. The fare is 140 bolivars, which is about $0.19.

While it's true that this area is currently quite neglected and abandoned due to the economic crisis of 2017-2018 and the pandemic, it still retains the beauty of its architecture, the striking scenery, the natural light that floods in from all sides, and its unique details that make this shopping center a one-of-a-kind place in the city.

Next to the shopping center is Marina Cumanagoto, which not only has a dock for the various boats that arrive in our city, but also a bar/café, a restaurant, and several shops where you can buy beautiful souvenirs and other items. In this area, the sea breeze and the beautiful scenery are free.

Junto al centro comercial se encuentra Marina Cumanagoto, que no solo cuenta con un muelle para los diversos barcos que llegan a nuestra ciudad, sino también con un bar/cafetería, un restaurante y varias tiendas donde puedes comprar hermosos recuerdos y otros artículos. En esta zona, la brisa marina y el hermoso paisaje son gratuitos.

It's worth mentioning the various clothing and shoe stores—formal, athletic, and casual—located in the different buildings. Previously, there were more shops and businesses of all kinds, but there are still stores offering both national and international merchandise.

Vale la pena mencionar las diversas tiendas de ropa y calzado —formal, deportivo e informal— ubicadas en los distintos edificios. Antes había más tiendas y negocios de todo tipo, pero aún se pueden encontrar establecimientos que ofrecen productos nacionales e internacionales.

Since we were going to the movies, we went up to the first floor and checked what was showing. Although there wasn't a film that interested us at that moment, we learned that when there are international premieres, they're also shown here. Right now, they're showing The Odyssey, by the great director Christopher Nolan, and tickets cost $3.

As I walked around, I noticed the beautiful details of the Mediterranean architecture that made this place a unique space, perfect for children, teenagers, and adults to meet and relax.

It must be said that one of the most compelling attractions of this shopping center is its view. Its location facing the sea provides an unparalleled vista. From the ground floor or the second floor, you can see the countless boats, the coastline, and the sunsets that often paint the blue sea and sky in shades of gold, pink, and orange. A spectacle worth enjoying.

Cabe destacar que uno de los mayores atractivos de este centro comercial son sus vistas. Su ubicación frente al mar ofrece una panorámica inigualable.
