Beware of the First Step You Take | Groundhog Day⏰

Hi, cinephiles!, I hope you have received your new year well. For my part I'm still recovering, so I haven't continued with the new taste for Gaspar's movies unblocked; however, I was recommended another one that I didn't like any of the 3 times I watched it halfway through because I fell asleep or took it off because of how boring I found it: Groundhog Day (1993), directed by Harold Ramis. I really didn't like his work at all, only Slightly Pregnant (2007) (which the second time I saw it was that I liked it) and To Hell with the Devil (2000), of the rest, I find them as boring as the actors he chooses. I made a fourth attempt to see this film but under a different perspective: to look for the meaning of this comedy (that's how it was sold to me again). I won't make a synopsis, I'll just give my opinion.

No haré sinopsis, solo daré mi opinión.

So, well, we start with "all batteries on" to see this hit (note the sarcasm), and well, this will be very brief. Watch until the second or third time Phil wakes up on the same day, then you can fast forward half an hour, watch him go crazy, and then you can go to the last 20 or 30 minutes where the guy succeeds in making sense of his life. This I didn't do, but it could be done and it wouldn't affect the development of it at all.

Although, it certainly does have its thing, its message, well: enjoy life and accept yourself as you are. Maybe (let's give the benefit of the doubt) the play of being so boring and to some extent tiring, has been the result of that very thing: to imply that the life of many is so routine, boring and when you do something to make it different it does not work until you get frustrated, you get exhausted, you give up and begin to accept things as they are, you begin to take a sincere interest in others and help them, you seek to learn new things ... and so on until you start to fill yourself with emotions and experiences that you really needed. Phil made a 180° turn, a very drastic one, because he was a super arrogant and despot, the navel of the world when in reality he was nobody and he didn't even accept himself. And it took him six months (more or less the time he mentions in the movie) to realize that, many will think it is not enough time, others will see it as too much, but it is just that, how we perceive our daily life, how routine and perhaps boring our day to day life can be. Many times we are able to criticize or detail those things in other people, but we don't realize how we lead our life.

A very deep message within a very boring movie, as I mentioned above, I don't know if it was on purpose by the director or it was a luck that it came out like this (because half knowing his works, they are not the most favorite ones to watch again on a Saturday afternoon). Would you recommend it? If you like Harold Ramis movies or movies with boring actors... no way, otherwise no, I think there are better shows to demonstrate the same thing they wanted to do here but in a better way.

Jejeje pues siento decepcionarte.
