It is always a sad occurrence when a respected and well liked member of the community begins to break rules. It is even sadder when they show a side that nobody knew they possessed. Excuses are nothing more than weak minded attempts to justify actions that the perpetrator knows to be wrong.

Siempre es triste que un miembro respetado y querido de la comunidad empiece a romper las reglas. Es aún más triste cuando muestran un lado que nadie sabía que poseían. Las excusas no son más que intentos de mente débil para justificar acciones que el autor sabe que están mal.

Today I tried to give @fermionico the benefit of the doubt, under the assumption that he did not fully understand the legalese nature of the copyright notices given by Major League Baseball, and therefore a chance to right his wrong and in the end I received the same diatribe that he had decried in prior conversations. The man who says Venezuela is in its current position because it’s people are too lazy to do what is right and stand up on their own now says he is exempt from practicing good ethics because he is Venezuelan and “needs” the income.

Hoy traté de darle a @fermionico el beneficio de la duda, bajo el supuesto de que no entendía del todo la naturaleza legal de los avisos de derechos de autor dados por las Grandes Ligas de Béisbol, y por lo tanto una oportunidad de enmendar su error y al final recibí la misma diatriba que había denunciado en conversaciones anteriores. El hombre que dice que Venezuela está en su posición actual porque su gente es demasiado perezosa para hacer lo correcto y levantarse por sí misma, ahora dice que está exento de practicar la buena ética porque es venezolano y "necesita" los ingresos.

The excuse // la excusa

The rules of the community is that one does not use copyrighted materials without prior authorization. It does not matter if everyone else does it, not where they are from. He knows it is wrong. If he did not know what he did is wrong he would not be making excuses.

Las reglas de la comunidad son que uno no usa materiales con derechos de autor sin autorización previa. No importa si todos los demás lo hacen, no de dónde son. Él sabe que está mal. Si no supiera que lo que hizo está mal no estaría poniendo excusas.

I understand the pride. I understand the admiration he has for Venezuelan players who made it out of the hell they came from. I admire Cuban players in the same light. But what I do not understand, nor respect in the least bit, is his flamboyant and arrogant show of greed.

Entiendo el orgullo. Entiendo la admiración que siente por los jugadores venezolanos que salieron del infierno del que vinieron. Admiro a los jugadores cubanos en la misma medida. Pero lo que no entiendo, ni respeto en lo más mínimo, es su extravagante y arrogante muestra de codicia.
