Hello dear friends, it is a pleasure to write again in this community, this time I made a story that clearly shows how a woman can feel during and after pregnancy, I would like you to join Francisca in her struggle to regain her beauty. I hope you like it.

Relato / Story

I am Francisca, I am 30 years old and I have always considered myself a very beautiful woman, I am very happy with my face and my body. When I found out I was pregnant I was jumping with excitement, I knew very well that my body was going to change, that I was going to change but I never imagined how much, I saw pregnant women showing their beautiful bellies proudly, I was embarrassed to show mine, I felt very ugly, although I was still very happy with my pregnancy I was not happy with my body.

I decided not to pay more attention to my body for the remaining time of pregnancy, all my attention was dedicated to my baby growing inside me and everything went well until my baby was born, there everything in my mind began to worsen, my body was very changed and I felt deformed, I fell into depression, I wanted to regain the body I had in the past but I was frustrated to see that I had no options, I had been marked for life.

Sometimes I imagined that it was a crystal glass that was subjected to heat for a long time and began to melt, but they took it out just in time for it to fade completely, but too late for anything to happen to it, a glass with that defect is no longer useful, that's how I felt it happened with me.

My family started to worry about seeing me so depressed, and they tried to convince me to go to a psychologist to help me get out of that hole, in which I was alone struggling to stand up for my baby, but I was not succeeding. I realized that I was not going to get out of it alone so I decided to take them at their word and seek professional help.

For weeks and then months I went once a week for counseling, which only taught me how to be depressed and how to hide it so much that no one realized I hadn't recovered. I am not saying that these consultations do not work, but that the mind is so complex that when it is affected, it makes us do things to deceive ourselves, because in the end, by hiding things, I was harming myself.

Time passed and we planned a trip to go to the beach, as always I kept pretending that I was fine, that I was happy with my body and what I saw in the mirror, when the day came to go, I did not wear a bathing suit, I was going to bathe with a very wide flannel and pants, my husband looked at me surprised and asked me "Why are you going to bathe like that?", I answered that the sun was very strong and I didn't want to expose myself, although he doubted my answer, when he saw my confidence he was satisfied and stopped asking.

When we got to the beach, everything in my mind became chaos, I didn't think it was going to be so hard to see everyone with their toned bodies and without a mark and me having to hide mine inside very big clothes, I was very sad, but the idea was for my baby to have fun so I sat on the sand to play with him. A few hours passed and I felt that someone was blocking the sun, when I looked up it was a woman with a beautiful face and a two-part bathing suit that showed huge stretch marks, I think that if I compared them with mine hers were much worse, even so she was showing off her body on the beach. -How can she be so confident, I thought.

The woman said to me, "Can I sit down?" to which I answered yes, she saw my baby with a smile and said to me, "How old is he/she? What surprised me the most was what he said next "my twins would be almost the same as your baby, but after a lot of fighting they did not manage to survive" the only thing I could say after those words was that I was sorry for that.

But she went on to say, "these marks that I carry on my abdomen I wear them with pride because they lived there for nine months, each one of those stretch marks and the mark of my cesarean section tells me that they existed and although they could not stay with me, the time I had them there I know they were comfortable and loved and that is why my skin stretched so much, for them. Don't be ashamed of your body because you have some marks, you gave life to a little person who loves you and will always love you, those marks are small things compared to the happiness that baby brought to your life".

After hearing that I was completely speechless, that woman gave me a great lesson, I was always thinking about the past, about recovering what I lost and I was not living my present or enjoying it. My body should not be my priority, my gratitude for having my son by my side should be stronger than my desire to be the woman I was before, the one who was weaker, the one who did not know the true meaning of love, the one who was insecure, the one who now has the joy of having a beautiful prince call her "mom".

I am no longer ashamed of my body, I do not need to be admired when I walk by, or that my bathing suit does not show my stretch marks or my extra kilos, now I love myself because my body indicates that there was a life inside me, and that little person spends his days by my side, he does not care about my physique, for him I am the most beautiful woman in the world and that is priceless.
