Hola, mis amigos de Hive y esta linda comunidad, es un placer estar con ustedes en esta nueva oportunidad; es para mà un privilegio poder estar aquà y compartir con ustedes lo que fue el examen de presentación de karate de mi hijo, y posteriormente lo que fue la entrega de cinta. Espero les guste.
El mes pasado fueron 2 eventos que se realizaron para este tema de karate; esto se hizo el mismo dÃa, pero quise subirlo en dos partes: lo que fue el examen y, el otro, lo que fue la entrega de cinta. Para esta parte se hizo junto debido a las órdenes de los directivos de la asociación, pero realmente esto se hace en dos eventos. También algunos representantes de otros dojos quisieron hacer un solo gasto, asà que todo fue sumamente rápido, pero muy lindo.

Hello, my friends at Hive and this wonderful community. It’s a pleasure to be with you all again; it’s a privilege for me to be here and share with you my son’s karate promotion exam and, later, his belt ceremony. I hope you enjoy it.
Last month, there were two events held related to karate; they took place on the same day, but I wanted to post them in two parts: one covering the exam and the other covering the belt ceremony. For this part, the two events were held together due to instructions from the association’s leadership, but normally they are held as separate events. Also, some representatives from other dojos wanted to keep costs down, so everything went by extremely quickly, but it was very nice.

Esta celebración fue el mismo dÃa del examen; después de dar veredicto, se entregó la cuenta, lo cual fue superrápido para como estamos acostumbrados a hacerlo, pero aun asà fue muy bonito; además, agradecida de que mi hijo estuviera bien y todo fue lindo. En su examen le hablaron de que debÃa estudiar un poco más de teorÃa y bajar un poco una técnica, lo cual mi hijo lo agradeció, pero del resto todo estuvo muy bien; además, felicitado por haber tenido un buen bunkai.
La entrega de cinta es un evento que la sensei del dojo donde se encuentra mi hijo lo hace de una manera buena, divertida y espontánea. En esta entrega, ella determina la fuerza, determinación y concentración de sus atletas; también los hace sufrir un poco para que ellos tengan su cinta. Esto va más allá del dolor fÃsico, sino más bien de estrategias que ella coloca para que sea alcanzado el objetivo. Ese dÃa, después de esa entrega, hubo una tarde de piscina con todos sus amigos; sinceramente, estábamos cansados, ya que mi hijo el dÃa entero estuvo de cumple, asà que decidimos salir temprano del lugar.
This celebration took place on the very day of the exam; after the results were announced, the certificate was handed out, which was super fast compared to how we’re used to doing things, but it was still very nice; plus, I’m grateful that my son did well and everything went smoothly. During his exam, they told him he needed to study a little more theory and tone down a certain technique a bit, which my son appreciated, but other than that, everything went very well; he was also congratulated on having performed a good bunkai.
The belt ceremony is an event that the sensei at my son’s dojo conducts in a positive, fun, and spontaneous way. During this ceremony, she assesses her students’ strength, determination, and focus; she also makes them work a little harder to earn their belts. This goes beyond physical pain; rather, it involves strategies she employs to help them achieve their goal. That day, after the ceremony, there was an afternoon at the pool with all his friends; honestly, we were tired, since my son had been celebrating his birthday all day, so we decided to leave early.
Experiencia del cambio de cinta
Un cambio de cinta diferente
Finalmente, hemos llegado a nuestra cinta naranja, la cual fue con mucho esfuerzo, perseverancia y amor por parte de mi hijo y nosotros como padres, ya que este es de su esfuerzo y es algo que quedará con él toda su vida. Para este examen se sacaron algunos presupuestos para ese dÃa, pero lo que sà les puedo decir es que aquà todo se paga, pero enseñan a nuestros niños a ser seres con un mayor conocimiento y estrategia en este arte. Espero que pronto tengamos nuestra próxima cinta, pero no será en este año, ya que me gusta que mi hijo disfrute su cinta bastante tiempo. A pesar de saber kata de otros niveles y ser muy inteligente en eso, me gusta que mi hijo sude su cinta y disfrute con ella, asà que ya nos veremos el año siguiente.
Gracias a Dios, mi hijo obtuvo su pase a naranja con amor y esmero, gracias a sus sensei, sus amigos de entrenamiento, a su agilidad de combate y nosotros como familia y padres por estar siempre a su lado apoyando lo que necesita.
Finally, we’ve reached our orange belt—an achievement that required a great deal of effort, perseverance, and love from my son and us as parents, since this is the result of his hard work and something that will stay with him for the rest of his life. We received some quotes for that day’s exam, but what I can tell you is that while everything here comes at a cost, they teach our children to become more knowledgeable and strategic practitioners of this art. I hope we’ll earn our next belt soon, but it won’t be this year, since I want my son to enjoy this belt for quite a while. Even though he knows kata from other levels and is very skilled at them, I want him to work hard for this belt and enjoy the process, so we’ll see you next year.
Thank God, my son earned his orange belt through love and dedication, thanks to his sensei, his training partners, his agility in combat, and us as a family and parents for always being by his side and supporting him in whatever he needs.
