So friends, yesterday I had come to Sanjauli for some work, in the meantime I got a chance to visit Jakhu temple with my friends. Jakhu Temple is a beautiful temple situated amidst cedar forests in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. This temple is also the center of faith of the people. There is an ancient temple of Lord Hanuman here. Devotees come here from far and wide to have darshan of Lord Hanuman. A few years ago, a statue of Lord Hanuman was also built here whose height is 108 feet. This statue built on Jakhu hill is visible from far away. Seen from a distance, it seems as if everything is under surveillance.

Sitting at Sanjauli View Point, we plan to go to Jakhu Temple with our friends. We take a cab from Sanjauli to Shimla Mall Road whose fare is thirty rupees. Roam around the Mall Road for a while and enjoy ice cream in the hot sun. There is a two kilometer path from Mall Road Church to Jakhu Temple. It is a two kilometer climb to Jakhu temple and we start on foot. However, taxis also go to the temple. We meet many monkeys on the way, I am afraid of monkeys. Like every time, this time too we forget to bring water with us. Everyone's throat has become dry due to thirst. We reach the temple in an hour. There are a lot of tourists and monkeys here. The monkeys here are so clever that they snatch the tourists' belongings and when they are given food, they return them. There are also small shops near the temple. We visit the temple. Taking photographs inside the temple is strictly prohibited.

After having darshan, I sit for some time near the statue of Hanuman ji. Sitting under this 108 feet high statue, we look like ants. A ropeway has also been built here for tourists in the last few years. Due to the construction of this ropeway, many trees have been cut here. Somewhere this development leads us towards destruction. As soon as evening comes we come back towards Mall Road.
