Today I want to share with you how I start planning the new school year remotely. Yesterday they called me to inform me that I should prepare the material because this time I would have to give 3rd year biology, this is a year that I particularly love to give as it is one of the most practical and fun years for students, since that we move away from the theory a little and enter much more into practice.

In general, I like to start the new school year giving a short review to my students from their previous years to refresh their previous experience and start their new stage with that base. Unfortunately, the situation is getting worse in Venezuela due to the coronavirus and my town is going through a strong outbreak, so we must stay home compulsorily, despite the fact that there are measures to make quarantine more flexible, my state did not enter it, We can only leave our houses for food and medicine. What creates the great unknown not only in the teachers, but also in the parents, representatives and students, we all ask ourselves: How will we get the content to the students?

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes como inicio la planificación del nuevo año escolar a distancia. El día de ayer me llamaron para informarme que debía ir preparando el material pues en esta ocasión tendría que dar biología de 3er año, este es un año que particularmente me encanta dar pues es uno de los años más prácticos y divertidos para los estudiantes, ya que nos alejamos un poco de la teoría y entramos mucho más a la práctica.

Por lo general me gusta iniciar el nuevo año escolar dándoles un pequeño repaso a mis alumnos de sus años anteriores para refrescarle lo anteriormente visto e iniciar con esa base su nueva etapa. Lamentablemente la situación se agrava cada vez más en Venezuela debido al coronavirus y mi localidad está atravesando por un fuerte brote por lo que debemos permanecer en casa de manera obligatoria a pesar de que hay medidas de flexibilización de la cuarentena mi estado no entró en ella, solo podemos salir de nuestras casas por alimentos y medicamentos. Lo que crea la gran incógnita no sólo en los docentes, sino también en los padres, representantes y alumnos, todos nos preguntamos ¿cómo Le haremos llegar el contenido a los estudiantes?

As the economic crisis in Venezuela is already known, it does not allow all families to gain access to the Internet or to have smartphones so that students can communicate with their teachers, which is why I decided to start as follows:

Pues como ya se sabe la crisis económica en Venezuela no permite que todas las familias logren tener acceso al Internet o que posean teléfonos inteligentes para que los alumnos se puedan comunicar con sus profesores, es por esto que decidí iniciar de la siguiente manera:

The first thing I did was search and select several books with which my students can work from home and make sure that I have the material that I want to teach them, carefully review them and select the contents that they could best develop from home with the help of the representatives. Then I transcribed the planning to my computer and decided to place activities that they could carry out through illustrative figures, triptychs, mind maps and educational games, all easy to do for them and that they can do from home without going outside and putting their Health.

Once this was done, I decided to print all the information and make several copies, but the question I asked myself again was, how do I get this information to you so that you can prepare?

Lo primero que hice fue buscar y seleccionar varios libros con los que mis alumnos puedan trabajar desde casa y asegurarme que tenga el material que les quiero impartir, los revise detenidamente y seleccione los contenidos que mejor pudieran desarrollar desde casa con ayudan de los representantes. Luego transcribí la planificación a mi computadora y decidí colocar actividades que pudieran realizar a través de figuras ilustrativas, trípticos, mapas mentales y juegos didácticos, todos fáciles de realizar por ellos y que puedan hacer desde casa sin salir a la calle y poner en riesgo su salud.

Una vez hecho esto decidí imprimir toda la información y sacar varias copias, pero la pregunta que me hacía nuevamente era ¿cómo les hago llegar esta información para que se vayan preparando?

Well friends, this is what I have achieved so far. I hope I can go ahead and take my work much further, because despite this terrible pandemic and the quarantine that we must meet, life must continue and we cannot allow ourselves to be defeated.

Entonces pensé si todos podemos salir solo a la farmacia y a supermercado bueno allí está la respuesta, he decidido pegar copias de este contenido a fuera de estos establecimientos donde los padres y representantes puedan verlo y hacerse los llegar a sus hijos, además enviar una copia por correo a la institución para que coloquen la información en la cartelera informativa del liceo, así como también enviarle todo esto a los padres y representantes que tienen acceso a Internet y teléfonos inteligentes para que se lo puedan proporcionar a sus hijos.

Bueno amigos esto es lo que he logrado hasta ahora espero poder seguir adelante y llevar mi labor mucho más allá, pues a pesar de esta terrible pandemia y la cuarentena que debemos cumplir la vida debe continuar y no podemos dejarnos vencer.
