Our First Trip To Graffiti Wall Of Fame!

Hello Hive Friends! I am a bit late in posting this blog, it´s been a very busy month due to Ramadan and I haven´t had time to write lately.
I wrote this blog last month but didn´t find time to post it.

The month of march has been very strange. It's almost summer in Stockholm, Sweden, almost because the weather is confused whether it should be cold or hot. But a few weeks ago my son @hamza-art , who is the weather broadcast of our family said that it's a little bit plus degree so we planned our trip to Snösätra. Me and @shahzad-ansari have been planning to visit this place for a long time but some other things came by so it got canceled.

Snösätra is a place where graffiti artists have full right to express their art on the walls of the industrial area, and its called “Wall Of Fame". It felt a bit scary to visit this very silent and hidden place in an abandoned industrial area, you never know what kind of people you can find there. But as we entered the area we saw a lot of people walking and cycling by, which was a relief. As we entered the area there were a lot of parking spaces, so we parked our car right in the beginning of the road, so that we could walk through the whole area.

Why did we choose to visit a graffiti place?
@hamza-art is the one who introduced our family to graffiti art. He started liking it some years ago and many of us think that graffiti is only made to destroy walls, buses and to express aggression.
Even though I wasn't that much interested in it, I started showing interest. Because as a parent you have to be very open minded. Even if I did not understand the art behind graffiti I took my time to see what it is that impresses @hamza-art so much. I started talking to @hamza-art about this art and that's how he showed me different types of designs, themes and color combinations. He even showed me some special markers, papers and he wanted some books to learn more. He was so passionate when he talked about different kinds of art methods and the talent of making graffiti and that changed my mind.

As I am also very fond of art, I am not at all good in drawing but I understand the liking of any art. As a parent I don't want to forbid my kids to do something which they like and of course which is not harmful for them. If they like to do something they have all the right to do it or learn it, but in a non harmful way.
My first thought was that If I do not allow him to learn and express himself at home. He will go somewhere else and learn it in a bad manner and in a bad company. So it's better to let him learn this drawing art at home and let him get whatever he wants for it to express his talent and liking towards it. I talked to him and explained that there are many different ways of doing and learning things. If you like graffiti you can make something good of it, instead of going outside and destroying society. You can make whatever you want on paper and canvas at home and learn different techniques.
Now he can express himself by making different arts and we support him in this learning. Whenever he wants some special pencils, colors or papers he asks us and we try to give him everything that can be helpful for improving his artistic talent.

This is why we gave him a surprise by visiting this fantastic place called the Snösätra “Wall of fame”. All of us were so excited about this place we took a lot of pics and Hamza was amazed with all the art on the wall.

I could see the sparkles in his eyes. There were many artists who were there because the weather was also very good. We were also lucky to see live painting and Hamza got to borrow some spray bottles from some kids who were there. I am totally impressed by this art, its really a different way of thinking and it's absolutely not easy.

IMG_20230410_141640.jpgBetween the graffiti I saw this crochet frame which I could´t resist to take a pic of :)

Even if all 5 people in our family were there and all of us took pictures. But I bet everyone had their own experience and had their own point of view of looking at the art and we all got caught by some special art.

It was really a day full of fun and new experiences.
These last pics were made by some kids or maybe a mother who wanted to express herself, but I liked it so I took a pic.

Truly it was a fun day, and i loved this place, i am very thankful and happy that you all supported me in this art and sometimes for people who dont know graffiti can see like an aggresive art.☺️😅

Very cool Street Art spot... I had seen your son's post, the two posts complement each other well. Different person, different vision on this place, Art really belongs to the viewer (dixit Marcel Duchamps). Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community. Havbe a great weekend.
