Weekend Engagement topics - WEEK 203: We must establish a balance between our personal relationships and our professional careers.

Human beings are faced with the conflict of deciding whether to prioritize our personal relationships or professional careers. This choice can be difficult, as both aspects of life are important and significantly influence a person's well-being and happiness.

It is important to keep in mind that clear boundaries need to be established between work and personal life.

Some believe it is critical to focus on professional development to achieve success and personal fulfillment, while others believe that interpersonal relationships are critical to happiness and emotional well-being.

Personal relationships are the foundation of our happiness and emotional well-being. Spending quality time with our loved ones provides us with emotional support, helps us maintain good mental health and offers us moments of joy and connection. Prioritizing our personal relationships allows us to build strong and lasting bonds that will stay with us throughout our lives. However, focusing solely on personal relationships can limit opportunities for professional growth and personal development.

I am an administrator, and once, I lost a very well paid job because I preferred to attend the call of some friends to go to play baseball, I postponed the appointment for the next day, and although I managed to be attended and interviewed, the Human Resources Manager of the company told me that my decision to delay the appointment meant that they would not give me the job.

On the other hand, our professional career also plays a crucial role in our lives. Our work not only provides us with a livelihood, but also gives us a sense of purpose and personal fulfillment. Advancing in our career allows us to grow professionally, achieve our goals and contribute meaningfully to society. But, prioritizing career exclusively can have negative consequences on personal relationships and emotional health.

I worked as a Consumer Credit Manager in a Financial Organization, it cost me a lot of effort to reach this position. I proved with facts and hard work that I deserved it, I worked more than 8 hours a day, I stopped sharing meetings with family and friends, and I even suffered from stress and eating disorders. I regret very much that at that time I did not share trips with my wife and my daughter, I did not know the beaches of Cancun, I did not know the Riviera Maya, or the Panama Canal, and also accelerated my chances of suffering from Diabetes, in fact I suffer from this disease today.

It cost me a lot of time and work to reconnect with family and friends, I slowed my pace of work, focusing on what was important over what was urgent, since everything was usually urgent.

I believe that both perspectives should coexist and complement each other, allowing people to find a balance between their personal relationships and their professional career. It is crucial to find a balance between both aspects of life, fostering healthy relationships while at the same time working towards meaningful career goals.

Ultimately, it is not about prioritizing one over the other, but about finding a healthy balance between our personal relationships and our professional career. Both aspects are important in our lives and deserve our attention and dedication.

This is my participation in the Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 203, suggested by @galenkp Link Here.

On this occasion I chose the following theme:

Do you prioritize your relationships or your career more? Explain. Remember to use your own photos.

All images are my property, and were taken with my Iphone 3 cell phone.

Happy weekend to all, and thanks for visiting me.

It isn't always easy to create the balance between a relationship and a career, all require our time and effort to be put in place, and focusing on one can't be that healthy cause you can't have a good and fulfilling career and then lose out on the ones you love. Creating a balance can be difficult though.

It is difficult but not impossible, working helps us, but sometimes we are blinded and we do not see that our family and friends need us, and believe me in the jobs we are expendable and at any moment they forget about an employee who gives everything to the company, on the other hand in our family we always have a hand and we are needed.

Yeah, you're very correct, our family will always be there when we need them.

That's right. Finding another healthy balance between work life and personal life is the best way to look at things.

I am sorry you suffer from diabetes and also losing touch with your lived ones as you embraced your work life. And, I am glad you saw the need to find a balance between the two.

Thank you for your kind words, work is not everything, it helps us to support the family, but they also need our presence at home.
