HOKBEN, is a Japanese-style fast food located in Jakarta, Indonesia. This restaurant already has hundreds of outlets in Indonesia. Hokben or Hoka Hoka Bento comes from Japanese which means warm food in a box.
THE HISTORY
The history of hoka hoka bento first appeared on April 18, 1985 in the Kebon Kacang area, Central Jakarta. Under the auspices of PT Eka Bogaanti. The company was founded by Hendra Arifin. HokBen serves Japanese-style food that is varied, hygienic, fast food.
With relatively affordable prices and a comfortable atmosphere. This makes HokBen the largest “Japanese Fast Food” restaurant in Indonesia. The owner, Hendra, was interested in developing a Japanese-style fast food restaurant because in 1985 the concept did not exist in Indonesia. Hendra did a comparative study in Japan and then bought a license to use the Hoka Hoka Bento brand and technical assistance in Indonesia. In his native Japan, Bento is a take away food (order take / take home). PT. Eka Bogainti now owns the full copyright to the HokBen brand. Businesses similar to the same brand in Japan are now gone. Despite offering Japanese cuisine, the ownership of the HokBen brand is now 100% owned by Indonesian citizens. In 1990 Hokben first opened a restaurant outside the city of Jakarta, namely in Bandung. Until now there are 23 outlets in the city. Hokben first opened its outlets in Surabaya in 2005, and until now there are 13 branches in Surabaya. In 2008 Hokben also opened a branch for the first time in the city of Malang. In 2010 Hokben expanded its business to the areas of Central Java, Yogyakarta, and Bali, thereby expanding Hokben's business. Finally, Hokben had a Call Center network of 1500055 in 2007 and an online messaging service in 2008. HokBen also provided drive thru facilities at several of its restaurant outlets in 2010. These include: Alam Sutera (Tangerang), BSD Square (Tangerang), Harapan Indah ( Bekasi) and the Special Police (Surabaya). Then on October 15, 2013 Hoka Hoka Bento came with a new name, namely: HokBen. With a fresh look, offer, service and feel that is also friendly.

Today I traveled to Jakarta, because the trip was quite long and my stomach was hungry so I didn't have time to cook after arriving. I ordered food via an application ,I ordered for lunch at one of the restaurants in Jakarta which collated in one of the Mall called Mall Ciputra.
Since I haven't eaten this food in a long time so I decided to order Hokben.
I ordered using a promo code from Hokben, so I got a hefty discount. The price includes tax, in my opinion, this tax price is quite expensive.
I ordered 4pcs with 2 menus.
The menu I ordered was 2 SIMPLE SET TERIYAKI and 2 SIMPLE SET YAKINIKU.
SIMPLE SET YAKINIKU
The simple yakiniku set menu includes rice, vegetable salad, sauce, mayonnaise, shrimp roll, and chicken yakiniku.
The taste is very good, the yakiniku chicken cooked with a broth like coconut milk is very delicious, the yakiniku chicken has a distinctive smell like garlic, the taste is very tasty, plus sliced onions add to the aroma in this dish. Shrimp Roll is made from processed shrimp wrapped in egg and breadcrumbs, the taste is very tasty and soft.
SIMPLE SET TERIYAKI
The Simple Teriyaki Set is rice, vegetable salad, sauce, mayonnaise, egg roll and teriyaki chicken.
Chicken teriyaki is chicken fillet cooked with teriyaki sauce, it tastes very common. This chicken dish is added with sliced onions.Egg chicken roll is minced chicken fried in a very tasty and soft egg wrap.
Another addition when we order this food is that we already get chopsticks and paper towels.
The presentation is also very good, everything looks clean, neat and attractive.
When you place an order online or through an application, the restaurant will guarantee the safety of your food, everything will be sealed including paper bags and lunch boxes.
I think this is a plus for this restaurant.
How does it feel?
For each taste, each has a distinctive taste, the yakiniku chicken set is very tasty and delicious. For teriyaki chicken, it tastes a little bitter, for some reason it's just my opinion, sorry if there is something wrong in my writing. I'm just commenting according to how I feel. But it all depends on the taste of each person, because everyone has a different taste of the tongue. For the salad and mayonnaise it is very good, I really like and enjoy it.
