Back up your keys folks, do it now!!
I faced this problem last week and let me tell you, it was awful. When I joined hive, I started with my phone but when I got a laptop, I moved everything to my laptop for the following reasons:
My phone could be easily accessed by anyone and I didn't want my keys falling into the wrong hands so I deleted the chrome extension from my phone and my keys. I didn't have to worry about that anymore.
Only I had access to my laptop so I was sure my keys were safe plus anybody that has used their laptop for hive before knows the user interface is better than the one on our mobile devices.
Number one and two.
It worked well for me since but recently, my laptop crashed and my keys were on it. This was when my troubles started, I couldn't log onto Hive. I knew I was in trouble. Fixing the laptop was going to take time and you know how hard it is to be away from Hive for such a long time.
For anybody that has never experienced this, let me tell you that you can't do anything without your keys. Even if you do find a way to log in, you can't make transactions if you didn't set up your account to log in with a password.
I don't want to use the word useless but that was exactly how I felt and life was going on smoothly for everybody else. I tried to rush things with the fixing but we all know how that goes, the more desperate you are, the more time it takes.
Finally, a light in my world of darkness. I remembered I had used my dad's laptop at home to log in about a month ago. I sent the file that had my keys in it but knowing me, I probably deleted it immediately after I finished. The problem was I wasn't in town and he didn't know I wasn't around and he'd freak out if he found out so I called my sister instead to help me check.
I just kept running into problems.
She didn't know his password and he would want to know why she wanted it if she asked him. Don't know how she did it but she found a way, God bless her little heart. She found the file and my keys were intact. I just needed to pay her for her troubles and she sent the folder to me.
I felt this weight lift up my chest. You never know how long two days are until you're locked out of your account. I copied the keys and logged into my beautiful account, oh how I missed it.
Now I have my keys on my phone and on my dads laptop. I backed up to my google passwords too and saved it as a googled document only I can access. I am not going through being locked out again.
The only reason I'm able to make this post today is because I made a mistake by not deleting it from my dad's phone, or was it a mistake? It is a blessing.
Here are ways you can back up
Apart from keeping them on your phone, back them up to your google account, that way you can access your keys even if your phone goes missing.
I wouldn't suggest you keep them on your phone because anybody can easily get your phone and get your keys so I wouldn't advice that. Save them on a family laptop outsiders don't have access to. Limit the amount of places to store your keys. The safest place is the cloud.
I can not stress how important it is to back your keys, it could cost you your Hive account. Stop scrolling, take a minute and back up your keys, do it now!!

Me enfrenté a este problema la semana pasada y déjame decirte que fue horrible. Cuando me uní a la colmena, empecé con mi teléfono, pero cuando conseguí un portátil, lo trasladé todo a mi portátil por las siguientes razones
Cualquiera podía acceder fácilmente a mi teléfono y no quería que mis llaves cayeran en las manos equivocadas, así que eliminé la extensión de Chrome de mi teléfono y mis llaves. Ya no tenía que preocuparme por eso.

Sabía que estaba en problemas. Arreglar el portátil iba a llevar tiempo y ya sabes lo duro que es estar alejado de Hive durante tanto tiempo.
Para cualquiera que nunca haya experimentado esto, déjame decirte que no puedes hacer nada sin tus llaves. Incluso si encuentras una forma de entrar, no puedes hacer transacciones si no has configurado tu cuenta para entrar con una contraseña.
No quiero usar la palabra inútil, pero así era exactamente como me sentía y la vida seguía sin problemas para todos los demás. Intenté apurar las cosas con el arreglo pero todos sabemos cómo va eso, cuanto más desesperado estás, más tiempo te lleva.
Por fin, una luz en mi mundo de oscuridad. Me acordé de que había utilizado el portátil de mi padre en casa para conectarme hace un mes. Envié el archivo que tenía mis claves, pero conociéndome, probablemente lo borré inmediatamente después de terminar. El problema era que yo no estaba en la ciudad y él no sabía que no estaba y se asustaría si se enteraba, así que llamé a mi hermana para que me ayudara a comprobarlo.
Me encontré con problemas.
Ella no sabía su contraseña y él querría saber por qué la quería si le preguntaba. No sé cómo lo hizo pero encontró una manera, Dios bendiga su pequeño corazón. Ella encontró el archivo y mis llaves estaban intactas. Sólo tenía que pagarle por sus molestias y me envió la carpeta.
Sentí que se me levantaba un peso en el pecho. Nunca se sabe cuánto duran dos días hasta que te bloquean la cuenta. Copié las claves y me conecté a mi preciosa cuenta, oh cómo la echaba de menos.
Ahora tengo mis claves en mi teléfono y en el portátil de mi padre. También hice una copia de seguridad de mis claves de google y las guardé como un documento de google al que sólo yo puedo acceder. No voy a pasar por ser bloqueado de nuevo.
La única razón por la que puedo hacer este post hoy es porque cometí un error al no borrarlo del teléfono de mi padre, ¿o fue un error? Es una bendición.
Aquí hay formas de hacer copias de seguridad
Aparte de guardarlas en tu teléfono, haz una copia de seguridad en tu cuenta de google, de esta manera podrás acceder a tus llaves incluso si tu teléfono se pierde.
No te sugiero que las guardes en tu teléfono porque cualquiera puede conseguir fácilmente tu teléfono y obtener tus llaves, así que no te lo aconsejo. Guárdalas en un ordenador portátil de la familia al que no tengan acceso personas ajenas. Limita la cantidad de lugares donde guardar tus llaves. The safest place is the cloud.
No puedo enfatizar lo importante que es respaldar sus claves, podría costarle su cuenta de Hive. Deje de desplazarse, tómese un minuto y haga una copia de seguridad de sus claves, ¡hágalo ahora!
