Greetings to the entire #SWC and #Hive community 🙋🏻‍♂️🤸🏻‍♂️.
Let me tell you how yesterday, Monday, went. We finally resumed training as we should, although, to be honest, it didn't exactly go as planned. After a whole week without being able to set foot in the park, I was really looking forward to going, but the situation got complicated right from the start.
Just as I was getting ready to go out, the weather decided to act up and it started raining, ruining my plans to go outside. To make matters worse, the power went out throughout the entire area. Faced with this situation, I had two options: either leave it for tomorrow or adapt. I decided to train at home so as not to lose the momentum of the week. I set up my training area in the dark and, in order to see something and record the process, I improvised lighting with the flash on my cell phone and other additional equipment I had on hand.
Development of the routine
As usual, I started with the usual stretches using the elastic band to activate my body properly. Once I warmed up, I focused fully on strength training, concentrating on Front lever isometrics.
Test series: I started by measuring my maximum endurance in both the Full Planche and Front Lever. Honestly, the results were pretty decent. While I still need to refine my technique and gain a little more postural strength, I felt pretty strong.
Bar combos: I continued with a series of combinations on the improvised bar I have here. The structure was always the same: start with some variation of the Front Lever, add some power moves, and finish with some variation of the Full Planche.
Conclusions and impressions
To be critical, I did well in the combo phase, but that was it. I realized that I need to work much harder on my endurance when it comes to the more complex Front variations; fatigue hit me sooner than expected during the long transitions.
I finished packing up around 8:30 p.m. so I could go straight to bed. I was careful not to overload myself with too many series, since it's only the beginning of the week and I have an even heavier session today, so I preferred to save some energy in reserve.
Despite the power outages and rain, we achieved our goal. See you next time!
