To watch this film I had to have a lot of willpower, it is something that was surprising for me; since the leading actor of this plot is Lee Jong-Suk, one of my favorite actors, and also, one of the best actors in all of South Korea. Certainly, I have seen all of his K-dramas, but I selected this movie because of the plot and the synthesis of the story at the time when I watched it.
Para ver este film tuve que tener mucha voluntad, es algo que para mí fue sorprendente; ya que el actor protagonista de esta trama es Lee Jong-Suk, uno de mis actores favoritos, y también, uno de los mejores de todo corea del sur. Ciertamente, he visto todos sus K-dramas, pero seleccioné esta película debido a la trama y la síntesis de la historia en aquel momento cuando la vi.
The film was released in 2017, and something that is really overwhelming is the way it was shot, that is, it was filmed between a spatial context between a reflection of North Korea and South Korea, two nations diametrically opposed economically, socially and politically. peculiar? There are not many plots with these positions, the point is that this one caught my attention because of the rawness and criminal bestiality.

En este punto a veces una cara inocente puede engañar, y eso es lo que este film imparte; ya que Lee Jong-Suk, es conocido en corea del sur debido a esa bondad, carisma y romanticismo, ¡nadie sé imaginaba que interpretaría algo tan fuerte!
You may think that if an actor only does romance he can't play the role of a killer well, well let me tell you that you are wrong, I was wrong too, don't worry! When I started watching the movie, I saw that rough touch from Lee Jong-Suk as his V.I.P, what do I mean? The evilness he explained and the duality of portraying that horrifying form of the character.
Usted puede que piense que si un actor solamente hace romance no puede interpretar bien el papel de asesino, pues déjeme decirle que está equivocado, ¡yo también lo estaba, no se preocupe! Cuando comencé a ver la película vi ese toque tosco por parte de Lee Jong-Suk como él V.I.P, ¿a qué me refiero? A la maldad que explanaba y la dualidad de representar esa forma horripilante del personaje.
The producer of this film is Yeon Young Sik, who definitely did a great job, because she brought to the screen the simplicity of the facts, is it strong? It is very strong, not only because of the repeated rapes, the outrages, the bloodthirsty way of committing the crime; but also because of the expression of the act typically reproached by the society.
La productora de esta película es Yeon Young Sik, que en definitiva efectuó un gran trabajo, ya que llevó a la pantalla la simpleza de los hechos, ¿esto es fuerte? Es muy fuerte, no solamente por la forma reiterada de las violaciones, los desmanes, la manera sanguinaria de cometer el crimen; sino también por la expresión del acto típicamente reprochado por la sociedad.
The crudity is too grotesque, and it reflects reality. The film has this point of convergence of technically overwhelming facts, but for some it may be a bit strong, and more so, in a society as conservative as the Korean or even the liberal ones in the world.

Something that can really leave you with a glimpse or visualization of the facts, is the manner of the crimes that Kim Kwang Il commits, even though he is pursued by several police agencies, including Interpol, but his exhausting sweetness makes him go unnoticed, of course to a certain extent, nothing is permanent.

The film was highly criticized in South Korea due to the scenes of rape and humiliation of each of the victims, but that did not prevent its success, as I remember. The issue is very true, the rapes are seen very accurately, and there are parts where the rawness of the murder is visualized, that is, the antemortem period without any kind of censorship.

All in all, actor Lee Jong-Suk, played a role that was too strong, and even though most of the performances I had seen from him were romance, this was for me one of the most amazing, he knew how to play the duality of the personality, the sadism of his evil, and at the same time, reflect the way he enjoyed watching every crime.

Debo establecer un aspecto que es sumamente ilógico para una persona común, y otro que se vislumbra en la trama, pero que está compaginado con la maldad de un criminal, y este es: la alegría de cometer el crimen por gustos o satisfacción, esta es una de las cosas más reprochables, sin embargo, debe ser un punto de análisis para comprender este comportamiento irracional y así como se ve en esta película, entender que es lo que lleva a esto.

I am not a fan of Korean movies but I was force to watch this movie by a friend and at the end I was impressed with it. The story hooks you up even there lots of gruesome and bloody deaths scenes. Also the plot twist was amazing! I love this movie because I am into crime genre. A fantastic review you have here! Well done!
Ooooo, when you try this genre it captivates and draws you in in so many impressive ways. I think the most invaluable of all is the visualization of the context of the story, how the facts permeate and the robustness of the policing. What is merely right? It may be something that causes a lot of stress on each of us.

Es una película con muchos contextos que en tal caso puedes disfrutar de manera relevante, la historia es un poco fuerte, tanto en la trama como visualmente. Ese es uno de los puntos más exactos y certeros, a veces creemos que no pueden, y te dejan totalmente sorprendido.

La ultima que vi de este cineasta me encanto, hice una reseña sobre Noche en el Paraíso y recuerdo que v hace bastante tiempo otra de sus películas: New Wolrd. También fue muy buena. VIP es una que tengo pendiente de su filmografía, no la había buscado, ahora que me la recuerdas, lo anotare para que no se me olvide. Porque definitivamente es el tipo de película que me gusta, seguramente me dejara extasiado con su violencia, sangre, escenas repulsivas, sádicas, macabra.
No he visto estas, pero acabo de ver los tráilers, y creo que me pondré a ver Noche en el Paraíso. La película realmente posee mucha repulsión, y escenas visualmente repulsivas. Lo más probable es que te guste, bueno, a mí me gusto y lo mejor es que esta película al haber sido criticada fue un éxito, también tuvo una invitación a Venecia, pero aún no estaba culminada para ese entonces. Algo también paradójico es que pareciera que se contara en los 70, pero en realidad es modernidad.

Al parecer hay un buen trasfondo detrás de los asesinatos, y eso me llama la atención. El cine americano es un poco más incoherente en algunos de sus títulos donde hay mucho Gore, es decir, solo vemos eso del matar por matar, sin un argumento inteligente, claro, no digo que las producciones basadas en este tipo de franquicias deban ser lógicas en lo absoluto, después de todo, el cine es irreal, aunque la exageración no siempre esté alejada de la realidad.
Hombre, ¿Cómo haces para recordar los nombres coreanos? Jajaja 😆, para mí es un auténtico lío. Me pasó cuando ví los juegos del calamar 😵, 🤣. Voy a anotar esta, se ve que es muy buena e impactante. ⭐👍.
jajajajajaaj veo Kdrama desde 2016, me sé el de los actores, no es tan difícil cuando te acostumbas, que si Hyun, que si Tae, que si Sha, jajajajaja Park es uno de los más comunes. Te recomiendo que la veas es muy cruda y te puede ayudar a redactar algo interesante en el futuro.
Si existe un buen trasfondo debes verla para comprender, porque el V.I.P actúa de esa manera o forma, también está como muestran las escenas que no son para nada dóciles visualmente. Te va a llamar en todos los sentidos. Hay producciones que he visto buenas americanas, pero siento que lo mejor es conectarse.
