Dreams of lavender - Illustration made in the traditional way [ Es/En]

Hace algunos días no podía dormir bien del todo, me despertaba mucho durante la noche, revisaba algunos lugares de la casa y luego intentaba volver a reconciliar el sueño. Siempre he tenido la costumbre de dormir con un poco de música suave para que esto no ocurra, pero mi aparato de sonido portátil está descompuesto desde hace ya un mes.

A few days ago I couldn't sleep well at all, I would wake up a lot during the night, check some places in the house and then try to get back to sleep. I've always been in the habit of sleeping with some soft music so that this doesn't happen, but my portable sound device has been out of order for a month now.

Logré rebatir un poco la situación dejando mi televisor encendido con un canal emisora de música Jazz, lo dejé a un volumen muy bajo y fue la manera de dormir mejor. Ayer por lo menos pude tener un sueño muy bonito, es raro cuando recuerdo los sueños, pero el de ayer aún está muy presente. Estaba en un campo sembrado completamente de lavanda y lo recorría en una bicicleta, la cual al pasar y rozar hacia que las flores despidieran un brillo muy bonito.

I was able to refute the situation a little bit by leaving my TV on with a Jazz music channel, I left it at a very low volume and it was the way to sleep better. Yesterday at least I was able to have a very nice dream, it is rare when I remember dreams, but yesterday's dream is still very present. I was in a field planted entirely with lavender and I was riding through it on a bicycle, which as I passed by and brushed against it made the flowers give off a very pretty glow.

El sueño fue tan vívido que se podía oler el aroma de la lavanda, uno que me fascina de igual forma su color. No tengo idea de cómo finalizó el sueño, solo recuerdo recorrerlo, parecía interminable. Cuando desperté podía oler aún ese aroma y me dije que haría un ejercicio artístico con todo esto.

The dream was so vivid that you could smell the scent of lavender, one that fascinates me as well as its color. I have no idea how the dream ended, I just remember walking through it, it seemed endless. When I woke up I could still smell that aroma and I told myself that I would do an artistic exercise with all this.

Siempre cuando hago este ejercicio me gusta hacerlo con garabatos, me gusta mucho ese estilo. Tomé mi cuaderno de bocetos e ignore algunos bocetos que tengo adelantados y que por alguna razón no he podido continuarlos, no he tenido el impulso de hacerlo, algo pasa que posterga que trabaje en ellos. Quizás solo necesitaba este ejercicio, en el cual creé un pequeño boceto garabateados nada riguroso.

Always when I do this exercise I like to do it with doodles, I really like that style. I took my sketchbook and ignored some sketches that I have advanced and for some reason I have not been able to continue them, I have not had the impulse to do it, something happens that postpones me to work on them. Maybe I just needed this exercise, in which I created a small scribbled sketch, nothing rigorous.

En el segundo paso me debatí mucho en como darle color sin hacerlo demasiado elaborado, entonces me decidí en darle pequeños golpecitos con el marcador a la hoja, muy suaves para no saturar demasiado el papel, considerando que usaría cinco tipos de color, unos encima de otros, para darle contraste.

In the second step I debated a lot on how to give color without making it too elaborate, so I decided to give small taps with the marker to the sheet, very soft so as not to saturate the paper too much, considering that I would use five types of color, one on top of the other, to give contrast.

Debo decir que los colores obtenidos me parecen fantásticos, trabajar con marcadores con tonos pasteles es muy bonito, les agrega frescura y delicadeza, algo adecuado cuando hacemos flores de lavanda. Ya lista la aplicación de colores y haber dejado que estos se secaran correctamente para que al aplicar el delineador no saturara nuestro trabajo es hora de hacer el delineado con estilo de garabatos.

I must say that the colors obtained seem fantastic to me, working with markers with pastel tones is very nice, it adds freshness and delicacy, something appropriate when we make lavender flowers. Once the colors are ready and we have let them dry properly so that when we apply the eyeliner it does not saturate our work, it is time to do the eyeliner with a doodle style.

Es un estilo casi ininterrumpido en algunas zonas, particularmente me gusta hacerlo porque me termina relajando mucho, además de que trabajas algunos trazos que son un poco complicados. Para finalizar agregué algunos detalles en el contorno de nuestras hermosas flores, simulando el brillo que aprecié en mi sueño, claro que allí era más bonito y mágico. Y es de esta manera en la que un sueño se convierte en una idea, la idea condujo a un dibujo y el dibujo resultó ayudándome a que me animara a terminar otros bocetos. Siempre he creído que este ejercicio es muy poderoso para mí. La ilustración es sencilla, nada perfecta, pero cuando te enfocas en lo positivo termina convirtiéndose en algo fantástico.

It is an almost uninterrupted style in some areas, I particularly like to do it because it ends up relaxing me a lot, plus you work some strokes that are a little complicated. To finish I added some details in the outline of our beautiful flowers, simulating the brightness that I appreciated in my dream, of course there it was more beautiful and magical. And it is in this way that a dream becomes an idea, the idea led to a drawing and the drawing turned out to help encourage me to finish other sketches. I have always found this exercise to be very powerful for me. The illustration is simple, nothing perfect, but when you focus on the positive it ends up becoming something fantastic.
