Pokémon first generation - Illustration done in a traditional way[Es/En]

Desde hace unos días he querido hacer mis Pokémon favoritos de la primera generación, asi que me puse a trabajar en ello. Busqué algunas imágenes fabulosas para retarme a dibujar en una cartulina como he querido hacerlo desde hace mucho tiempo ya que por lo general hago mis ilustraciones en papel bond. Deseaba dibujar y colorear algo desafiante, explorar con los colores y mezclar para intentar llegar a la imagen original, una tarea nada fácil sinceramente. Cuando realicé el boceto principal tuve muchas dudas de cómo podría empezar el coloreado, pero decidí seguir adelante con el desafío.

Honestamente hablando Pikachu nunca fue mi Pokémon número uno, si me agrada estéticamente, es una criatura muy hermosa pero siempre me molestó que era el que tenía la libertad de estar fuera de su pokebola, mientras que los otros estaban dentro. Solo eso, de resto me agrada la forma en que electrocuta por casi cualquier cosa a Ash, sus pequeños sonidos al caminar y su siempre adorable pika pika.

For a few days now I have wanted to make my favorite Pokémon from the first generation, so I started working on it. I looked for some great images to challenge myself to draw on cardstock as I have wanted to do for a long time since I usually do my illustrations on bond paper. I wanted to draw and color something challenging, explore with colors and mix to try to get to the original image, honestly not an easy task. When I made the main sketch I had many doubts about how I could start the coloring, but I decided to go ahead with the challenge.

Honestly speaking Pikachu was never my number one Pokémon, I do like it aesthetically, it is a very beautiful creature but it always bothered me that it was the one that had the freedom to be outside of its pokeball, while the others They were inside. Just that, for the rest I like the way he electrocutes Ash for almost anything, his little sounds when he walks and his always adorable pika pika.

Quería sacarle todo el provecho posible a mis colores usando esta cartulina. Una de las cosas que más deseaba evitar era que los colores se contaminaran con las líneas del lápiz ya que suelen dejar trazos oscuros, es por ello que decidí hacer un delineado bastante sutil, no tan pronunciado. Gracias a esto las líneas del boceto principal pueden ser borradas y así trabajar con los tonos de manera más impecable.

Me tomó bastante rato decidir por dónde empezaría a colorear, entonces me dije que no deseaba empezar con el tono amarillo, de manera que decidí abrirme paso con los bordes. Resultó ser muy sencillo combinar los colores. Hubo un momento del proceso en que dudé como trabajar con el color amarillo ya que solo tenia un tono y no contaba con otro mas oscuro para complementarlo, asi que decidí darle mas brillo con el blanco, por suerte pudo adherirse esta mezcla.

I wanted to get the most out of my colors using this cardstock. One of the things I most wanted to avoid was that the colors would be contaminated by the pencil lines since they tend to leave dark strokes, which is why I decided to make a fairly subtle outline, not so pronounced. Thanks to this, the lines of the main sketch can be erased and thus work with the tones in a more impeccable way.

It took me a while to decide where I would start coloring, so I told myself I didn't want to start with the yellow tone, so I decided to work my way around the edges. It turned out to be very easy to combine the colors. There was a moment in the process when I doubted how to work with the yellow color since it only had one tone and I didn't have a darker one to complement it, so I decided to give it more brightness with white, luckily this mixture was able to adhere.

Finalmente me enfrente al desafío de darle el efecto de electricidad, en un principio creí que seria suficiente trabajarlo con el color blanco, pero luego hice algunas pruebas con un bolígrafo tinta blanca y fue fabuloso, resaltaba tan bien que no dudé en incorporarlo y no solo el la parte de los rayitos sino también en sus ojos y en algunos detalles en los bordes. Para finalizar esta pequeña reproducción, usé un bolígrafo tinta negra para trabajar el delineado final y también para agregarle los detalles en las orejitas.

El resultado me ha parecido fabuloso, estoy muy contenta con el y colorear en este tipo de cartulina se ha convertido en mi modalidad favorita, a pesar de esto se me pasó un detalle por culminar en este trabajo y lo noté al subir las fotos acá en Hive, pensé en subir las fotos actualizadas ya con el detalle finalizado, pero luego me dije no, usemos esto para que los usuarios que entren y aprecien el dibujo puedan notarlo al guiarse por la imagen original. Así que los invito a comentar cuál es ese pequeño detalle que había pasado por alto, espero les encante tanto como a mi, pronto se vienen mas Pokémon ⚡⚡💥💥💥

The result seemed fabulous to me, I am very happy with it and coloring on this type of cardboard has become my favorite method, despite this I missed one detail to complete in this work and I noticed it when uploading the photos here on Hive, I thought about uploading the updated photos with the finalized detail, but then I said no, let's use this so that users who enter and appreciate the drawing can notice it when guided by the original image.
