Aster Flowers
Asteraceae refers to the family of plants in which the flowers resemble a star – ‘aster’ meaning star in Greek. Hence, they are also referred to as star flowers family, or sunflower family. The core of the flower represents the sun while the petals represent the sun rays. It is said that there are 32,000 species of these flowers in the Asteraceae family.
Here are some images of lovely flowers from the Asteraceae family taken from my visit to the Flower Dome.
“Did you know… that when you walk past a flower, whether it be in somebody’s garden or on a vacant hillside, the flower will always smile at you. The most polite way to respond, I’ve been told, is to cheerfully return the smile.” - Ron Atchison
