WHY MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD ENACT LAWS ON CYCLING.

Good day everyone, it's a beautiful and lovely day best suited for cycling. The day is bright and fair. I was riding my beautiful bicycle to work this morning, so many thoughts ran through my mind. I usually leave very early in the morning in order to beat traffic and also get to work early. As I was enjoying the early morning breeze and navigating through taxis and buses, I reasoned that the municipal government makes laws regarding cycling in order to get the best out of cycling and to also help the citizens.

It will be necessary for the county government to make laws and make cycling compulsory to all public and civil servants. This will go a long way in keeping the workers fit for work. In my state, a lot of government workers are indolents and unfit for work. You get to the office and discover that a personnel is in a deep sleep and loads of work are piled up on the table. This has seriously affected and slowed down the implementation of government policies across all quarters. An unfitted worker cannot deliver a job on time and when this happens it's the citizens that pays duly for it. I remember getting to the department of government to get my national identity card, only to meet a lot of people not attending to, and the workers were too slow to attend to everyone. I left unattended to.

Secondly, cycling should be made compulsory to reduce the rate of intoxication and pollution of the environment. The depletion of the ozone layer is primarily caused by carbon dioxide from automobiles. The green environment in my town is badly affected by these smokes from cars. Apart from the plants and environment, these glasses have affected the wellbeing of the people. And has shortened the lifespan of people.

When cycling is made compulsory, the rate of sickness and diseases will reduce among the citizens and workers. Using myself as an example, since I began cycling, it's been over six months I have never fallen sick. Imagine having a major population of people in good health, the productivity level will improve. Meanwhile, sick citizens result in a sick country. Even at old age, there will be strong and healthy older people.

Moreover, there will be a reduction in road accidents that claim lots of lives. Most accidents that claim the lives of people happened as a result of recklessness of the driver as well as faulty vehicles. With cycling, everyone is his own driver. Hence escaping the recklessness of another person.

Above all, cycling will keep workers fit for their jobs everyday thereby resulting in a high productive force. Which will lead to the growth and development of the city.

Thanks for stopping by.

I don't think you should make laws to force people to go cycling. I do think governments and communities should promote cycling.
They also should ensure that there is a good cycling infrastructure by creating bike lanes and parking spots.
In a lot of cities in The Netherlands and other European countries (like Paris) there is a trend to ban cars from the city center. The city centers are only accessible via public transport, by bike or on foot. This makes cycling in a city very attractive and stimulates people to go cycling in a natural way without forcing them to.
