Several days ago it was Qingming Day, which is a tradition for Chinese people to clean the graves of their ancestors and pay respects and bring food to worship according to belief. I am a Chinese daughter-in-law, so I have to study some of their traditions.
After a few days at home, today we cooked food to pay homage to our ancestors at home. The ancestors will be from the father-in-law's side. The person who is a daughter-in-law must cook food to respect the ancestors who have passed away to another world. In addition to cooking food to pay homage to ancestors, there is also the burning of silver and gold paper, which is considered to be sent to those who have passed away according to belief, that is, so that they can live in comfort and have money to spend. Or if you are born, you will be rich and will not go hungry. (This depends on the beliefs of each religion and person.)

Today we have cooked a lot of food because we only have it once a year. The food we made today was stir-fried mixed vegetables and broccoli. Cauliflower, carrots, and shrimp combined. Fry a plate of fish. Stew chicken feet with bamboo shoots and pork belly. Stewed sea cucumber in red sauce with pork belly. There is herbal soup. There are steamed buns filled with vegetables. Stir-fried noodles. And there's also steamed rice. When the food was finished, we set the table to pay homage to our ancestors in the central hall of the house, where we set up every pot to worship and put the names of our ancestors on it. How to know if you are full or not. I saw my mother-in-law take two similar-looking sticks and bring them to pray and throw them on the ground. If both sticks were upside down, it was considered that the ancestors had had enough to eat.
Or we can use this method to take the risk of Siamese, using the same principle, that is, both sticks come out and face down, meaning that the Siamese result, which is a good thing, will actually happen, no need to try and guess again. But if both plum sticks come out facing up, we have to insert them again or those things will not come true. But if one comes out face down and another face up, that means we have to accept the result.
When we finished paying respects to our ancestors, the youngest daughter immediately complained that she was hungry. The mother-in-law only made the fortune telling once and the ceremony was completed. The children then continued to eat food from their ancestors today. And this is our activity today.
