The story: Have you thought about what to cook today? Cooking is always a tough decision.

***Hello everyone!*** Food is important, but what we decide to eat each day is just as important, haha. Because we have to think about how to get all five food groups and how to make sure we don't eat the same thing too often. Luckily, we're very easygoing at home, so it's okay if the menu is the same some days, because I'm not a very good cook anyway. Today I choose to cook two or three easy dishes every day.

I harvested the basil I grew to use in cooking.

The first dish of the day is stir-fried pork with basil. I never get tired of this dish, no matter how many times I eat it. Today, I chose to make it non-spicy so I only have to make it once. Before, I used to make two versions – spicy and non-spicy – so my kids could eat it too. If I wanted it spicy, I would chop fresh chilies and prepare them with fish sauce separately. This dish is easy to make. Heat a pan with oil, add the pork and sauté, then add the minced garlic. When the pork is 80% cooked, add oyster sauce, sugar, and fish sauce to taste. Once cooked, add the basil leaves, and the aroma fills the whole house!

The second dish is a clear soup with minced pork, omelet, and fish balls. It's a very comforting dish for children. This dish has eggs, pork, fish, and vegetables—a complete meal. It's my daughter's favorite because it's easy to eat and has all the flavors in one bowl. This dish is also great for encouraging children to eat their vegetables.

And the last dish for today is stir-fried cucumber with eggs. The sweetness of the cooked cucumber and the richness of the eggs mix together perfectly. I seasoned it with a little oyster sauce. That's it! What did you all have for breakfast? Thank you for reading my article. Thank you for your continued support. Bye-bye! See you in the next article!

I totally feel you! It’s really not easy figuring out what to cook every day, especially when you're not the best cook.

What I did was create a two-week meal plan so I could just follow that and not have to struggle every single time thinking about what dish to prepare.
