Hello all my lovely friends!!!
It's been 5 days since my last post. I was very busy with my schedule as I prepared to return to my hometown. Today I'd like to share a new post with all of you.
What's the weather like in your hometown? It's been raining heavily at my house these days, and the weather isn't cooperating. At times like this, I long for the sunny days when I could go wherever I wanted. Today, I invite you to explore the Unesco-designated world biosphere reserve, an island of wild and close beauty. Let's begin our journey to Cham Island.

Geographical location

  • Cham Island is an archipelago belonging to Tan Hiep commune, in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province. It is located 16 kilometers from the Cua Dai coast, 18 kilometers east of Hoi An, and 48 kilometers south of Da Nang.
  • Cham Island is made up of one main island and seven smaller islands. known as Lao Islands- the biggest Islands, Kho Me Islands, Kho Con Islands, Dai Islands, Mo Islands, Tai Islands, Ong Islands.

  • Cham Island with its rich flora and fauna and hundreds of years of historical relics, was designated as a world biosphere reserve by Unesco in its 21st session in Korea on May 29, 2009.
  • The unique aspect of this situation is that you are not permitted to use a plastic bag or dispose of it in the environment.

What are the best places to visit on Cham Island?

I don't have time to explore many attractions in Cham Island because I'm out on my own for the day. I'd like to share some of the places I've visited.

  • Hai Tang pagoda
This is an architectural work combined with the worship of Buddha and gods to meet the religious needs of the island's people. This is an ancient temple that dates back 200 years. Despite being subjected to hundreds year of unfavourable year weather, the Hai Tang pagoda has withstood the test of time.

  • An old well

This is a well that supplies fresh water to everyone on the island. According to residents of Bai Lang village, the ancient Cham Well in Xom Cam is a plentiful source of fresh water for the community.

This well's water never runs dry, even during the driest season, which is a unique feature.
. Cham Island experienced a severe drought that lasted for months in the 1970s, leaving the island's land white and cracked.

People and plants are all parched due to a lack of water, with the exception of the Xom Cam well, which is not parched. Hundreds of people survived the wrath of nature thanks to this miraculous water source.

Since then, the well has become the soul of the entire fishing village; whenever there are festivals or worship services, everyone in the village goes to the well to draw water and bring it home for the ceremony.

What modes of transportation are available to get to Cham Island?

We usually take two ways from Cua Dai wharf to Cham Island:

  • By motor boat
Motor boat departs from Cua Dai Port twice daily at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.; the round-trip fare is 350000 VND per person. It takes you 15 minutes to get to Cham Island.

  • By wooden boat
There is only one trip per day, leaving at 8:30 and returning at 13:30. The round-trip ticket costs 80,000 VND per person. The journey from the mainland to the island takes approximately three hours.

Things to keep in mind when visiting Cham Island.

  • You should visit Cham Island between March and the end of August because the weather is sunny and not raining, which is ideal for sightseeing and participating in island activities.
  • It is not recommended to visit between October and February because the sea is rough. Cham Island is cut off from the rest of the world, and the weather is bitterly cold.
  • Bring a waterproof bag for your phone's camera.
  • Avoid using plastic bags.

That's a nice place. You make me miss it. But the weather is not good now. It's not a good idea to go there now. I might save it for spring. Thanks for sharing. @ngothily
