Beyond Christmas Lights: The Gifts That Matter

As much as we think miracles do not occur, they do most of the time. There are days when you life feels like it’s falling apart and just one thing tends to change the trajectory of your entire life. If that isn’t a miracle, I don’t know what is.

I have seen miracles happen in my life and in the lives of others and that’s how I know God does come through for us in so may ways. Christmas is one of these season where miracles happen to people who didn’t even expect it. Maybe Santa decided to visit you this year, or you just got lucky. Either way, I know such time is a time of joy and happiness and once we all have this mindset, a lot of love goes around in this period.

I wish Santa would visit me this years cos there’s a lot of things I need. Scratch that, I need I need to fly up to heaven and have a chat with God cos there’s a lot of things I want to say. But hey, that’s not gonna happen. But if something has the possibility of happening, it’s probably me being Santa for Christmas. And being Santa means I get to do great stuff for people who need it.

There’s a lot of people i could make happy if I get to be Santa for even a day. But if there’s that one person I want to be happy with a singe gift, it’s going to be an auntie of mine. One of most women’s of not every woman’s wish is to have children of their own but sadly, not every woman gets to have this beautiful moment. This aunty of mine has been married to the best of husband for a long time. If I can remember, it seems to be way back when I was in high school. As it stands now, my aunts has been trying so hard to have a child and till date, there’s nothing to show for all her efforts. She has children she has taken in as her own is taking very good care of. But I know that everyday, she yearns to have her own children.

If I was Santa, just that one gift of giving her a bouncy baby boy or girl would change her life and that of everyone around her. For some it may seem like nothing but to my aunty, it would be a sign of hope and dreams coming true. And this is the meaning and essence of Christmas is guess.
