My Busy March & Joyful Easter: A Look Back

Am I the only one who feels the month of March has been the fastest month in 2024 so far? Wasn’t it just yesterday we entered the month of March and already we are in April.

Whew! As you might all know by now, this year Ramadan fell in the month of March and for we Muslims we always wish for the holy month to move slowly because who doesn’t love Gods blessings. I’d like to believe it’s because we are in the month of Ramadan that’s why I feel the month of March moved very fast. Last weekend, I was talking to my colleagues at work about how we all get holidays for the Easter celebration yet we don’t get holidays for fasting aside Eid. Who wouldn’t want 30 days holiday to worship God? Not me.

Anyways, this is a little recap of how the month of March went at my end. School was in session at that particular time and we were gradually heading towards examinations for most of the students.

With the kind of work I do, there is actually so much pressure on us during this period. Having to attend to students who need help personally. Making sure their assignments were marked and recorded and their books given out to them so they can prepare for the exams.

Then,wrapping up classes and lab sessions with our students for the end of the semester. If you’ve been a student before, you know how everyone gets tensed when it’s a week to exams. We didn’t want to burden the poor kids so, we made sure to finish everything two weeks before their exams. All they had to do was pick up their books from the department.

My daily schedule for the whole of March mostly included marking books, having lab sessions and invigilating exams.

Putting aside work related stuff. Personally, I was able to achieve so much in March as I made it a point to meet most of my gals for the month and even more. I had so many deadlines to meet and I was constantly working on the clock to get things done.

Most of my evenings were spent in the mosque praying with other Muslims. It’s actually very peaceful and fulfilling to be able to witness another Ramadan in good health. I wasn’t going to make it go to waste.

Also, you know I love exploring so I didn’t miss out on any opportunity to attend a meetup , conference or whatever. I made sure to be there to learn and be impacted.

And oh, what’s a babe without enjoyment ? As I’m suffering on one side, I’m also enjoying small small on another side. Life is already hard. The best you can do for yourself is to have fun when you can.

Even though I feel March moved really fast for me, looking back, I have been able to achieve so much. I actually felt I didn’t get the chance to do so many things but actually I did. I just wasn’t looking at thing right.😅

my Easter holidays….

I’m very delighted to tell you that I unfortunately spent most of my holidays at work.😂 The little free time I had was invested in meeting deadlines and watching movies. This adult life is really not easy.

Anyways, Happy new month to you all once again and I hope and pray that April is good to us.
