Restoring Our Humanity

avatar

When you take a look at the world we live in today you will come to realise that so much has changed and it’s right before us yet we fail to see. Comparing how things were then, to how things are now you will know that our world is no more the same.

Have you ever been told the story about how our great great grandparents used to live in peace in harmony for so many years. How they treated each other like they were one of their own , looking out for them, helping them in their times of need and even being there for them even if it meant listening to them talk. Those days, everyone lived together as one big family.

But today, what do we see. So many of us have lost our humanity. People are out there suffering, being subjected to so much pain, torture and even worse. Yet we sit a watch all of these acts go down like it’s none of our business. Well, someone would says it’s none of their business which I would totally understand in this era but what happened to loving your neighbour as yourself? Have you ever thought of what would happen to you if you found yourself in that particular situation? Do you have someone to look out for you? The answer most of us will give will be a No, with the excuse that the world has changed. But who changed the world? It’s us!

If I had the power to bring back something that has faded with time in our society then it’s going to be our humanity. Those strong relationships we used to build among each other. Treating everyone equally, having meaningful conversations to strengthen our bonds and also develop trust and many more. When you assess what’s going on with our world today, you realise that sometimes we are really not to blame but in a way, we are. We have been brainwashed so much to think that this is wrong and that is right and we don’t have to do this and that. It’s more like we have become robots that are being controlled. One thing that has affected our lives so much is technology because tell me why out of 50 individuals you are likely to find 49 of them have their head buried in their phone. We can’t even take a minute to put down our phones, laptops and iPads to pay attention to that brother or sister closer to us. Why do you think people commit suicide? It’s because most of the time they feel there’s no one there for them.

We are all we’ve got as humans and that’s why we were created for each other. We need others in life and there’s no denying that. So, why don’t we take a minute to think about our lives as people of this generation and make a few changes here a there and it all has to start from putting those phones down. If I could bring back our humanity as a people , our path wouldn’t be as rough as it is. Our way of life will change totally and that would be a big win for us all because without humanity, we are nothing.

It's indeed us that has changed!
The world is still a great place to stay in but it's inhabitants have transformed into something else.

The stories of our great grandparents always looks like a movie to me because you can't even get close to that life in our current time on earth and it's disheartening

Maybe and just maybe, if we made up our mind to do better. That movie we think our forefathers lived in can be the movie we live in.

Yes, this 20s generation is lacking humanity. They have turned selfish. The race for food and money has snatched from them time to take care of others and spread harmony.
But still situation is in hand. Much can be done to revert the situation as we are no verge of chaos not in chaos yet.

It’s hard out there, and that’s a fact but that doesn’t give us the right as humans to loose our humanity. What we are facing each day should even be the more reason why we should do better.

Sometimes I wonder what we learn in our different places of worship because it's not reflecting positively in our society if not, we wouldn't be talking about how humanity has become a forgotten issue.
This worth bringing back!

If we want it, we can make it happen. It’s never too late to change.

The most painful thing in this lack of kindness in humanity is that even in our place of worship there is no love 😩

People will wake up and go to church on mosque and will return back to their wicked ways after. It is well.
