Is diverse individuals, it’s fair that we each have our own definitions of success. To most of us, having so much money means being successful. I understand they say money rules the world and money also stop’s nonsense which is true.

We have seen with our own two eyes how people with money have so much influence. People even tend to hold people who have money in higher regard as compared to a someone living a not so rich life. So, I totally understand where people who think success is all about being filthy rich are coming from.

Today, I’d like us to look at things differently. What if we all had money and when I say money I don’t mean a small amount of money to last us a few weeks. I’m taking about billions of dollars to last you and your whole generation till thy kingdom come. In a situation like this, we would all be equals. So, how then would you define success in this case.

In my point of view, success isn’t really based on what we see but what or how we feel. Assuming I make myself a promise to make a post each day for the next week and I am able to stay true to myself and achieve it, that’s success to me. Success shouldn’t be about what you have but rather the satisfaction you feel after achieving something or making an impact.

You know there are people out there who have it all but are still not happy with themselves. This shows they don’t even find comfort in all money they’ve made and you’d most at times find these same people hating on others who have less than what they have.

Success is when you have more than you need and make sure that the people around you are not out there suffering. Success is when you lend a helping hand to the needy even if you don’t have much. Success is when you always aspire to make a change in your society and you do all these not because you’re being forced but because you genuinely want to do them , that’s success.

I’d say I’m successful now because I am where I want to be today. I knew where I wanted to be today a few years back and I worked hard to get here and I consider that a success. Success is when I am able to achieve my short and long term goals within the set time. Success is when I am able to finally live a comfortable life in good health and fulfilment with little or nothing to worry about. Success is when I see growth in my everyday life. Success is when I never stop learning. Success is when I keep on appreciating myself and accepting who I am even on my bad days. Success is when I feel that little voice within me telling me ‘well done, you finally made it!’.
This is success.
