The Limits of Free Will

If there is one thing living on this earth for years has thought me, it’s the fact that no one cares about you or what you’re doing. The whole time you’re bothered about what people will say and looking over your shoulders all the time, no one is actually watching. Everyone is so self absorbed, thinking that people care so much about them and what they do.

Some people realize too late that they could have actually lived happily and more freely if they only cared about what mattered to them. I for one used to be a people pleaser until it hit me that no one really cared. Most people are there for the benefit and not for the long term. Life is simple and the sooner you realize it, the better for you and everyone around you.

Speaking of free will, we all have free will. What makes the difference is the fact that some people use their free will while others choose to be limited and held back by rules made by a society that won’t standby you when things get tough. In our societies, it’s easy for us to point fingers and even judge others because we have set some unrealistic standards for ourselves over the year. Funny enough, those people we judge and lowkey the people we envy the most. The life you refuse to live due to the fear of being judged is the life they’re living on the daily basis. Thank God for clarity, I’m not one to please people anymore. I’ve learnt that sometimes you need to be very selfish in life and do what you want do.

We only live once and this one life I have won’t be wasted away. At my current age and standing, I make sure to use my free will like no body’s business. I can choose to have breakfast for dinner and vice versa and you know what, no one can beat me or question me for that because they don’t put food on my table. I can choose to do whatever I want, go wherever I want, talk about topics I want and so many more and no one dares question it. But there’s always a limit to the things we do or can do. Some of our actions can go a long way to harm or hurt others. That isn’t free will.

You can always live a good life and also have fun. Enjoying the good things in life doesn’t mean others have to suffer for you to have fun. Use your free will wisely and in a way such that people around you aren’t endangered. The world they say is for the bold and audacious and life gets a lot better when you subscribe to the weekly dose of audacity out there. There’s more to life than baseless rules and expectations. Give yourself the chance to explore and live like never before because the one thing no one can take from you is your free will, no matter how they judge.
