The Weight of Power

Have you ever thought of what would happen of the Almighty God who created us decided to be wicked to us. Wicked in the sense that He decided to not forgive us for anything we did wrong , bully us or even worse decide to put us all in hell fire. I’m sure you’re asking yourself if this writer is crazy. No, I’m not.

Today, I want you to ask yourself this question. What do I do with my power? Do you threaten others with your power, do you bully them, do you maltreat them, talk to them anyhow or even look down on them. Now, I want you to look back to when you didn’t have this power which you have now. Did you use to treat people the way you are doing today? Did you use to feel so big and proud all the time? I guess the answer would be a No, obviously.

Let’s take a look at our work places, society and even in our homes. What do we see? There would most definitely be one person out there in power or with power who’s always making the lives of others difficult. Just because you have power doesn’t mean you’re better than everyone. Even God who created us doesn’t brag and all of that. He is all knowing, yet he’s forgiving so, how much more you, a human being who could lose it all in a twinkle of an eye.

Power is good, but what you use it for is what matters. Do you use your money or position to make an impact or you use it to take advantage of others. Which ever one it is, why do you do it and do you feel fulfilled after? These are some of the few questions we should be asking ourselves on daily basis. I’ve worked with so many big people with so much power and influence but trust me when I tell you they are really down to earth and you wouldn’t even know who they are because they are humble to the core.

The fact that you know or have more than someone doesn’t mean you should look down on them. Today, I experienced an innocent person who was just trying to do better for himself get humiliated and made to feel like he was stupid just because he wanted to learn. I was really surprised at how much we say we have evolved over time yet I don’t see the effects if evolution on our mindset. Life is hard, people are having a hard time out there, and we are all not equal.

Why not use your knowledge, influence, power or whatever you have to do go and make someone’s life easier instead of being selfish and making others lives worse. Sometimes the little things you do give people so much hope than you can imagine. Be the light in someone’s darkness!
