To Every Woman Doing More Than Enough

All over the world right now, there’s a women cleaning up, a women breastfeeding, a woman taking cage of kids, a woman at work looking forward to closing and going back home to take care of the family. And after all this, some women are still being told that they don’t do enough.

The role of women in society for as long as I can remember hasn’t been and isn’t an easy one. From the days where women supposedly belonged in the kitchens to now where women are free to explore whatever they want, we still make sure to be responsible for ourselves and the people around us.

Women are nurturers and nothing can take that away from us. But today I’m here to tell you as a woman that you can’t carry all that weight alone. You’re not even meant to. My dear woman, buy that expensive ticket and go and that trip with your friends, spend that money on that expensive bag, make time to sleep enough, have fun and live your life like you always wanted to. Because that man you’re sacrificing so much for is equally being selfish to some extent and putting himself and his goals first.

Being a mother, a wife, a sister or a daughter doesn’t mean you should sacrifice yourself entirely for others. There should be a limit to the things you can and can’t do. Allow others carry the weight with you. Allow yourself to live because being a woman doesn’t mean you can’t. Don’t wait until it’s too late, start living now because tomorrow is not assured.
