Engagement is motivation.
We all have motivation to be here, doing what we do.
Some people might think that money is the main motivation but once you reach a certain stake it can grow by itself. You can earn passive rewards so there is no need to put in the time and effort to grow that you need to as a new user.
Over the years, plenty of the OG users have quit and left. There was still money to be earned so something more important than money made that decision for them.
Somehow the thought of leaving the eco-system was more appealing to them than passively earning from it so their motivation must have disappeared.
We all know how fast people can get demotivated in their work and it usually comes from a bad environment. The people create the environment so it's up to all of us to keep it positive and productive for the whole community.
I love to get engagement.
The reason that i still stay active everyday is my love of writing and learning. That is why this is such a great community to be a part of since we are all trying to learn together. The people here support each other, share their knowledge and try to expand the eco-system as a group.
It's a great learning environment and the engagement and discussion is a big part of it.
I wrote a post yesterday about leaving work and using crypto to support my next endeavors. I can't remember the last time that i got so much feedback and well wishes.
Real comments from real users. Some that i have chatted with for years and even better. A lot of new usernames that i have never seen before in the past four years.
Seeing these people reading and taking the time to comment makes it worthwhile.
As much as i love writing and earning crypto, it all feels a bit empty unless there is an audience for that work.
Otherwise you are just shouting into an empty void. It's no better than working in an empty office typing away for the man.
This is a reason to keep turning up everyday and communicating with others trying to do the same thing. To learn from the people that are ahead of me in the game and to try and help the ones who are just joining.
We all need a good reason to be here and having engagement and fun makes up a big part of it.
Any business is only as good as the people in it. The people are only going to be here if it's a good place to grow. Otherwise there are plenty other places that they can head to.

People are a lot more relatable when you talk to them compared to just reading news articles. At least I prefer to see a diverse point of view from a variety of people. Before coming to HIVE, I didn't really write much but I don't mind so much anymore. Of course I prefer commenting more than making posts though.
